"I was a customer of 1st Choice Heating a Cooling for 10 years or more. They installed a furnace in my prior home and just under 3 years ago installed an a/c unit in my current home. Had great service from them up until my most recent interaction. My a/c unit has a 10 year parts warranty and a 1 year labor warranty. The condenser fan motor went out. The part is 100% covered but the labor is not covered. I was charged $160 for a trip/diagnostics fee, then the quote for labor was just over $900. I was able to negotiate the labor down to $650 which is still extremely high given the repair took less than an hour to complete. Price gouging their customers by including filing fees and processing fees in with the labor fee for repairs where the parts are covered and labor is not. The owner was rude and condescending in his communications through the BBB. Claimed I was the problem since maintenance wasn’t done on my 2 year 10 month old a/c unit. I would not recommend 1st Choice Heating & Cooling."

Spoke negatively about the company and made excuses as to why he could not perform his job due to lack of information from dispatch or technician manager. Said he would follow up, I never heard from him. Blessing to me, I decided to go with another HVAC company. I typically would not put names out there, but please be careful if you get this gentleman as a technician."

"Repair was fine (only 3 days out at this point). Bill was $900, no parts and labor breakdown despite asking for part cost upfront and asking again after the service. Googled the part (blower motor), they go for about $150. Took a little over 1 hr of labor. He arrived 1045 and was done just past noon. Likely paid $500-600/hr for labor, which is about 3-4x what it should be. 6/16 update: Got a call from them and the summary of the call was "well you agreed to the quote, didn't you?" and "i don't know where you'd see a blower motor for $150, all of ours are over $800." I checked again today on home depot and granger and they range $80-200. Full blower units can go that high, but that was not what was replaced, as the mechanic himself told me that he dusted off my existing fan."

We specialize in Overhead/Entry doors and openers, but also offer snowplowing services, lawn care, yard clean ups, as well as dock/shore station installation and removal.
