"We signed a contract with Sure Fix on April 5th for painting, carpentry, tile work, plumbing and electric work totaling over $25,000 to remodel the house we had just moved into. Sure Fix's performance was decidedly mixed, and we would not hire them again. 1) 5-6 WEEKS LONGER THAN ESTIMATED Before selecting Sure Fix, Henry the owner told us the project would take TWO TO THREE weeks. In reality, they took EIGHT WEEKS, or 3-4 times longer than the estimate. 2) LATENESS NOT DUE TO ADDITIONAL WORK We added and subtracted work items after the work began, and the net cost of additional work only totaled about 20% more than the original price--a workload justifying only a few days of extra labor, and not a 5-6 week overrun. 3) ON MANY DAYS, DID NO WORK ON OUR PROJECT There were many days when only 1 or 2 workmen worked for just a few hours, and at least 10 entire days when no workmen came at all. This was a matter of health for us, as my boyfriend has asthma and was adversely affected by the dust that the prolonged work period exposed us to. 4) THEY JUGGLE MANY JOBS AT THE SAME TIME Tony, the project manager, justified his periodic abandonment of our project by writing: "We have several jobs going on and we have to be fair to everyone." We felt, however, that being fair to us would mean completing our project, without gaps of inactivity, in 2-3 weeks as promised--but that did not happen. Instead, Tony wrote on a day when no work happened: "I have other jobs to do." 5) MADE MAJOR MISTAKES COSTING US TIME AND/OR MONEY Among other mistakes, a whole week was lost when Sure Fix erred by ordering a custom countertop made of the wrong material. In the end, Henry charged us an extra $1,500 for the substitute higher-grade material we ultimately selected, but we would have been happy with our previous choice for $1,500 less. 6) STOPPED COMMUNICATING AFTER LAST PAYMENT, LEAVING WORK UNDONE After we made final payment, we could see that final touch-ups had been done with the wrong paint, and those touch-ups now required touching-up themselves. We texted Tony several times and left a voice mail for Henry to schedule the fixes still due, but neither of them bothered to answer us. SUMMARY Their workmen were friendly and the work was generally good. But on balance, we would certainly not hire Sure Fix again. "We hired Eric to complete a total renovation of our house, it needed everything. To start the house needed the chimney and the second floor removed, the old front porch removed, and the old kitchen walls redone. We stepped up the front porch and added that as living space, and went straight up around the complete exterior of the house, which increase our living space over 300 square feet. So we had a lot of different sub contractors involved, electrical complete upgrade from 60 Amp service. New plumbing through the house with and additional half bath down stairs. Completely new forced hot air heating system and central air. Looking back at the pictures of the old house, itâ s amazing what Eric and his sub contractors were able to do. The house is amazing and looks nothing like what sat here before. There are only three pieces to the original house, that two wall on the first floor and the original staircase. Everything else is new. The amazing part was this was all completed in a six month time frame during a COVID environment. We ended up with some delay none of which was AHR fault but suppliers of interior doors, the project came in under budget and is great. I would recommend Eric and the crew at AHR to anyone. Eric is not only our contractor, but would also like to call him a new friend."

"We hired Sure-Fix to do multiple jobs. The owner, Henry, came to our house and we walked him through all of the projects we want done and he provided good feedback and ideas. He also understood that this isn't our forever home, so while we do want to make it nicer, some projects are not worth putting money in to. They gutted our mudroom, replaced the old exterior door, closed in a window to provide better space functionality, built shelves in the mudroom closet to make it a pantry, insulated the room, rebuilt the unstable steps, instead outlets, base board heater, and new lights, replaced the flooring, replaced the roof over the mudroom, put up dry wall, and painted. They also installed a new exterior door in our sun room, replaced five old windows, and installed new outlets in our office. The workers were all very nice and you could tell they know their trade. They told us if we discovered an issue they would come fix it. Good customer service."

Work requiring attention to detail, like the interior of wood box, corners, and installing and finishing the drywall accommodations for mounting the tv, look absolutely outstanding. The hearth was so wide that we could not find a precut slab, but Mike had a connection with a stone mason who fabricated a beautiful, singular blue stone slab approximately ten feet in length, solving yet another challenge. In addition to the fireplace place, they laid the flooring, and stayed on to paint the walls and ceilings. During the work, communication was great. We were kept up-to-date on progress and future work plans. Any questions or concerns were thoughtfully addressed, and all work was done with the utmost care and craftsmanship. "The whole process was detailed and well done. This was in a new home construction and Curt took the time to make sure the vision I had was brought to life. He custom designed the medicine cabinet in the master bathroom. Had our countertops and vanities set at the height we requested. The only issue I had was some lack of communication to let me know when there were issues getting the one bathroom vanity and letting me know timing of when someone would be coming to do the installations.
