"Excellent, Hezekiah was very open and flexible with me when it came to what I wanted installed versus what would achieve a nice look to the house. He was upfront and honest about the needs and price for the project and I appreciated that. Would very much hire again"

"Excellent work. Jon B is super friendly, easy to work with, and "gets" what it is we need and want. We are thrilled with his execution of the stairs which look very artistic and fit in with the setting. We would rehire him instantly. We actually had him do a deck and front door canopy in 2016 which everyone continues to admire. A fabulous contractor !!!!"

"The hope chest belonged to my mother and was finished in a very dark stain so the wood grain and color was unrecognizable. Ken stripped the chest and refinished it in a clear finish so that the walnut wood showed off its beauty and workmanship. We were amazed at the transformation and now proudly display this chest as a finished piece of furniture. The entire project was completed in less than two weeks to our surprise. Thanks to Memory Menders for their workmanship and great customer relations."

"The service was great. It was hard to schedule with them, but all the reviews had said that, so I had anticipated it, but other than that, everything was great.  I think everything was done well. The interactions were great, and the door has been working wonderfully. We did not spend more than the big deal."

"Joe and his team did excellent work on our stairs. We have asked many others if they could make our stairs like a reference photo we had, but everyone said they could not except for Joe. The stairs are of top quality and looks very similar to the photo we showed him. He also kept our house very clean while doing his work. Not only does he do great work, but he also is very friendly and a big help!"

"They were very professional, courteous and prompt. We are very satisfied with their hard work! Eugene went one step further and put a brand new hand railing on the stairs as we are elderly and it was unsafe. Thank you. We will hire them again."

"My husband was the one that was home and he said that the girl who came was Holly.  She was very nice and she showed him what she was doing.  The time that we booked was not enough for everything, so she showed him what she was doing so that he could do the smaller pieces himself and she was very proactive in letting him know that she noticed couple of other things that we didn’t have on our list and we might want to address that as well.  I left a message with their office manager in advance saying hey, do I need to provide the supplies or are you going to bring the supplies.  The office manager called us back on a Saturday and said hey, describe your project to me again to make sure that they have enough supply so that the whole job would go faster."

FAQs for wood stairs and railings installation and replacement projects in Eatonville, WA

A pro can set an attic ladder in two to four hours, including framing adjustments and finish work. Complex installs—like cutting a brand-new opening or trimming joists—land toward the high end of that window. Tackle the job yourself and plan on a full day, plus an extra pair of hands, since one mis-measurement can slow everything down.

Local building codes drive this decision. If your ceiling has a fire-rating requirement, the ladder must match it to maintain that protective barrier. A rated unit slows flame spread between the attic and living space, buying valuable evacuation time and limiting damage.

Because codes vary by city and even by neighborhood, check with the permitting office or ask your contractor before you order the ladder.

Aluminum ladders are light, rust-proof, and easy to maneuver, making them a practical choice for most households. Wood models handle higher weight loads and can match traditional trim if aesthetics top your list, but they’re heavier and need occasional upkeep.

Compare the ladder’s duty rating, your ceiling height, and how often you’ll use it. The best option is the one that balances safety, convenience, and the look you want without stretching the budget.
