"I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. I have been more impressed with this company than most any other I can remember. We needed a new A/C unit for my mom's house after the other one went out in the heat of the summer. Brian gave us a great explanation of what needed to be done, why, and what our options were along with the pluses and minuses for each option. He provided us with a very fair price and prompt, great work. Through no fault of their own, we continued to have problems (the pipes ended up having a lot of build up from the previous 17 y.o. unit), they came out three more times to get it right and each time the technicians were courteous and prompt. They never charged us an additional penny, just got the unit working. If you need work done, don't hesitate to call this group."

"LOVE Spengler. They came out the same day that I called and he capped off the outside faucet pipe so I could turn the water back on to the rest of my house. In 2 days, they will come back and finish the repair and insulate the pipes. They were slammed with broken water pipe calls so today was just about getting me up and running - which is all I wanted and I'm so thankful for. He gave me several different options in writing and I went with their best service plan because it's well worth it. Office staff are awesome! Fantastic customer service! So much better than the company I was using and had a service plan with. I cancelled my service with the other company and as long as Spengler keeps this up, I will stay with them. It was quite costly, I think, but plumbers are very expensive. Great work with great customer service is priceless. Beware of cheap plumbers - you will get what you pay for."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Edwardsville, IL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
