The installer had the water heater I wanted on the truck and did an excellent job of putting in the new unit, cleaning up and even replacing copper flex tubing and installing a new overflow pipe out of copper as well, no additional cost. This company specializes in water heaters and couldn't do any additional work on supply lines and they clearly state that on their website. I didn't need that type of additional work."

I had purchased the unit and had it installed 6 years prior by another company but I couldn't recall if it was still under warranty. The tech did some research and found out it was under warranty and rather than charging me for more than $49 service call, suggested I call the original installing company, since that might save me money with labor, stating he would gladly do the repair if that was my preference. I did decide to call the installer, and that was the right decision since it was a problem with a part they had already replaced for me, they had had the same problem with other units from the manufacturer. Even though Huft didn't do my repair, they showed professionalism with helping me come up with the right solution and help me safe money in the process."

"Of the five businesses I contacted for estimates, I thought the Bonney installer gave me the most honest up-front estimate (although it was also the highest estimate). Some of the businesses would only give me over-the-phone low-ball estimates that were obviously just for the water heater itself, neglecting to mention the extra components that would be needed such as valves, strappings, expansion tank, and an electrical disconnect box, all required for the City permit. And only a couple of businesses, even one who came to the house, bothered to mention the required City permit. The Bonney installer showed up on time with all the required equipment. He removed the old tank and components, prepped the area for the new components, and completed the installation in about five hours. He also cleaned the area thoroughly when he was finished. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the results. It passed the City inspection. And I also think I got a better quality water heater brand which isn't available online or at discount big-box stores."
