I had a gas leak last week in the heart of the coldest weather in ten years: PSE&G just shut off the gas and left; and Alex was the only plumber who responded, to my urgent calls for help as the house cooled down. He was reassuring, came that day to take a look, arrived punctually with a helper the next day, and did a 3-hour repair (it involved work outside and in a crawl space) quickly, efficiently, and professionally. He cleaned up thoroughly, and left me with heat back on and hot water restored. PSE&G came the next day to remove the red tag and approve his work. All this for a third of the price the big companies wanted to charge me! We received an email and a call from Amy notifying that Robert was on his way. Robert diagnosed the problems, described the solutions and made the repairs. Our clogged kitchen drain has been clear since his industrial snaking. And our "singing pipes" was actually a defective toilet closet mechanism which he replaced. He was the 3rd plumber we had in to fix the singing pipes and the only one who actually solved the problem. Robert was friendly, efficient and respectful leaving our place clean after his work. He was also willing to walk through the house to help us see if there was any other plumbing problems that needed repairing. We had pre-paid for an emergency/after hours visit which was higher than for regular hours. As it turned out, we ended up getting a regular hours timeslot due to a cancellation. The pre-payment was applied to the final bill collected by Robert at end of service, just as explained by Jake and confirmed by Amy. It should be noted that I have used this company twice prior with excellent results as well. I just kept forgetting to put up reviews. They previously fixed a frozen pipe and unclogged two drains for us. On one of the calls, the plumber mentioned he smelled natural gas while he was walking up our driveway. He asked for permission to look at our gas line and furnace which I allowed. After checking things out, he said he didn't think the leak was coming anywhere near the house, but recommended I call the gas company's hotline anyway. Lo and behold, a few weeks later the gas company finally came out and found a small leak in the line by our curb. I just wanted to mention that little anecdote to show these folks treat your house like theirs."
