"Very prompt response to request for quote. Quote was reasonable. Started work immediately by hand digging a trench from the street to the house. Approximately 75 ft under a sidewalk and around sprinkler system. Took some work but there was damage to anything. Replaced line, got city approval, covered trench. All in all a great job. Very pleased with their service. <br />"

"The people who came out were professional, especially Joe Vickery who did all the testing.  Prompt, courteous, willing to discuss the problems in detail. <br /> We had the leak test ($175) done before the foundation work and found we had a leak.  Also had the gas line test ($450?) done on the first visit to save on the hassle of multiple appointments.  This was all at my own expense, as sometimes you can find a leak that is causing the foundation problems, and sometimes your insurance will pay for part of the repairs if caused by the leak. After careful consideration of the facts, and discussion with the owner of On-Call and my foundation repair company, I decided to not to try and use insurance, as I was convinced the chances of getting anything were slim, and would also take a long time to work out, and I wanted this done ASAP. <br /> We went ahead with the foundation repair, and afterward, had the plumbers came out to do another test at the foundation companies expense- it was built into the contract.  Now the leak was worse. <br /> Had to have the plumbers come do an isolation test at our expense - about $500.00- and took most of the day.  Found the problem was not where I suspected on an exterior wall where the foundation had sunk quite a bit, but rather was in the interior of the house at the washer drain.  Looking back, I now realize this could have contributed to the foundation problem, making the center of the house heave up , or at least not settle with the rest of the house due to drought.  Still, I can imagine an independant engineer hired from the insurance company would not likely have ruled in my favor.  I'm not hung up on it. <br /> Moving forward, we had them come do the repairs ($2450 as I recall), which required jackhammering the foundation in the interior of the home where the utility closet is, and digging to get to the broken coupling about 3' down.  It was a fairly large hole!  I watched them make the repair, and fill the hole, and replace the concrete. they did an excellent job.  Next was another static leak test on the sewer line (included) and all was A-OK. <br /> I'm torn on rating the pricing. this was expensive and this is not a discount plumber. their prices are in line with others I spoke with.  However, the job as done right, no guesswork, no re-work, no additional charges over what was quoted and excellent communication! That said, it was a lot of money, and nobody wants to be out a lot of money. but I'll go ahead and give an "A" on price based on the overall job and how well it went with them, with zero hassle. <br />"

"Better than excellent. They saved the day by adding us to their already full job list and came the same day I called. The plumbers came in, explained what there were going to do, found the leak and fixed it. Incredibly thankful for the great service."

"Bryan, our Technician, arrived early for 8am appointment and diagnosed the problem quickly. He also noted that leaky water heater was under warranty - which I thought meant delays and work on my part to get credit - boy was I wrong - the Watermark team took care of ALL OF THAT! I paid for Watermark to pick up the new water heater - much cheaper than buying whole new one. Bryan also installed two pans plus drain pipe, since none existed. This was a big job - he did have someone come help him - he finished up after lunch - GREAT JOB by entire team - such a relief!"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Ennis, TX

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
