"If I could leave less than 1 star I would. Blue Flame markets themselves as a wholesome, family owned business, when in reality they're owned by American Residential Services (ARS), which is owned by the private equity company GI Partners. In the process of installing an AC unit, the technicians did not lay down a covering on our carpet, and got black grease all over it, which we still cannot get out. Then when they needed to install the thermostat, they punched numerous incorrect holes in our wallpapered walls. The whole hallway needed to be re-wall papered, and we cannot buy the type of wallpaper anymore. Mind you, this was in July, its now January and we're trying to have Blue Flame cover the costs, and they keep passing us off to a new person in the company. This is a typical private equity company move, where they hope you'll get frustrated and give up. We're now dealing with their insurance, who is lowballing us, and gave a burnt offering to repair one hole. Do not use them!"

"I won't call any other heating or AC experts ever again. Twice now, I've had incomparable experiences. I had another highly reputed company come diagnose my failed furnace and provide an estimate, but AirPros' price for the same part and repair was much more reasonable and furnace repairs are not cheap, so the difference mattered significantly. AirPros also treated me like family. Go with this family business, you will be happy."

"Our Greenwood Technician, Sam, really provides us assurance that our gas furnace is still functioning adequately, but detailed why it may be time to consider replacing our aging water heater and furnace water pump system before likely damage occurs. Sam is a most genuine and reassuring professional - He helps us know just what may need maintenance and what is still sound. It is a joy to work with a trustworthy and competent professional "

"The heat pump was installed in March 2024. Very good service. I subscribe to the maintenance contract. Every few months a technician is scheduled to check all functions of the pump, air cleaner, filters and thermostat communication. One was here today. Helped me further understand the thermostat Alert symbols, checked & replaced the worn out air filter housing as part of the free maintenance. Very respectful and knowledgeable."

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Everett, WA

A condenser fan motor is a crucial part of your air conditioner that prevents the compressor from overheating. It pulls heat from your AC unit to cool the refrigerant moving through the condenser coils. This allows your system to blow cool air and keeps everything running smoothly.

The most common causes of AC fan motor failure include loss of lubricant in the system due to overheating and a rusted or leaking run capacitor. Poor lubrication can also cause failure in the belt drive, which may impact the AC fan motor. Weather and electrical components can also affect your AC. For example, a storm could send water into your motor windings and damage the internal components.

Air conditioner fan motors last about 12 years on average, though they can last longer if maintained well. This includes keeping them clean and cooled as needed with annual air conditioner checkups. Routine maintenance is essential to catch AC fan issues early. An HVAC inspection can cost between $70 and $500, while AC cleaning services may range from $100 to $400.

A broken AC fan motor may need replacement because this part usually can’t be repaired. Several things indicate it’s time to replace your AC fan motor, including buzzing noises, a constantly running fan, unusually high energy bills, or an aging system. If you notice these signs, call an HVAC pro for help before the faulty motor starts to strain other parts of the AC system.

There are clear warning signs of a bad AC fan motor, including unusual interruptions in the fan operation. The motor might be malfunctioning if you hear weird noises like grinding or rattling or if the fan continues to spin when the unit is off. These indicators compromise your AC’s cooling performance and increase your energy costs. Addressing these issues immediately by contacting a trusted HVAC professional prevents further damage and safeguards your HVAC's efficiency.

Replacing your AC fan motor takes a professional one to four hours. The technician will start by assessing your system and safely removing the damaged motor. If a new part needs to be ordered, it might take a few days. Once the part is available, your pro will install it properly and make sure your system is running smoothly.
