"Elad showed up on time, knew exactly what was wrong, and fixed my garage door faster than I could complain about it. Zero hassle, zero upsell—just solid, competent work. Portland Locksmith and Garage Doors is one of the rare companies that does exactly what they promise and doesn’t treat you like an idiot for needing help. My garage door works perfectly now, and I’m honestly amazed at how easy the whole thing was. Highly recommended."

"Determined no lock could further secure my garage door and would not be money well spent. Determined future garage door options down the road and tuned my garage door during visit. I would hire them again and appreciate their honesty for not selling me a $200 lock which would not have any appreciable impact on our current configuration."

"It's surprisingly difficult to get garage door repairmen out to fix a problem. Dothan carries his cell phone with him so he's able to maintain a mobile office. He called ahead of his arrival to let me know when he would get here. He saw the problem and went right to tackling it. Wasn't his fault that I have a cheap one door opener but he was able to work with it. Anyway, he's responsive and the problem is solved."

"I had used Ponderosa for a tune-up and for replacing the trolley on my garage door opener.  I called them and explained my predicament.  They checked to see who might be in the area to help out as soon as possible.   They were very responsive, professional and did the work promptly.  They are very honest -- told me options I could choose from to save money.   I have used them 3 times and will recommend them with an A+"

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Fairview, OR

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
