"Queen Anne Upholstery was very professional from start to finish. Karen met with us to review the requirements of each piece. She brought several fabric books and understood the look we wanted to achieve. The initial work involved 3 pieces of furniture - taking about 6 weeks to complete. Delivery time and arrival were communicated well so that we knew exactly when they were arriving. We were 100% satisfied so we had 2 additional pieces of furniture repaired and refinished. One piece was delivered that we felt needed a little more refinishing and they completed the work with no hesitation. We highly recommend this company. <br />"

"Very professional and great to work with. They did a beautiful job refinishing the couch and consulted with us on every little detail. They have done some previous refinishing work for us and it has been a great experience every time. They are expensive, but in my view it's worth the extra expense to work with someone you know will do a great job. (note that the cost includes the upholstery fabric, which is also expensive) <br />"

"The technician was prompt and professional.  It took about 2 hours to complete the job and the furniture looked fantastic.  One chair had a suspected ink blotch on it which was difficult to remove.  After some discussion with owner Mike Hiatt, it was decided that they would take the piece back to their warehouse to work on it at their expense.  The piece was returned 2 days later and it looks wonderful.  I really appreciated Mr. Hiatt's follow-through and most certainly will use DA Burns again for my upholstery cleaning. <br />"

"Chair and ottoman were picked up and completed as promised. VERY expensive but excellent workmanship. I would probably try to find a new product rather than reupholstering next time. Only as last resort would I go this route again."

"Trickett Woodworks built us an awesome built-in bookcase and cabinets for our living room which are good quality and made the room much nicer and more functional. Trickett was really responsive to all my questions via phone calls and emails, and we actually got lucky with scheduling and had the project installed a couple weeks earlier than expected. I would definitely hire them again for any other carpentry/furniture projects."

"Very nice estimator came to the house. Price seemed very reasonable. Bid arrived, I signed it and returned via email. Heard nothing for nearly a month. Called, spoke with owner, who said he'd follow up. Re-sent signed bid. Finally get an email, explaining that technician who refinishes furniture had quit, so work could not be done. Nice folks, but took nearly 2 months to be told to go elsewhere. This review is for the sole purpose of noting that as of this writing (12/2017), NHance is not set up to refinish furniture."

FAQs for furniture refinish projects in Federal Way, WA

A complete table refinishing project requires between four and eight days from start to finish. The actual hands-on work takes between two and 10 hours, with the remaining time dedicated to drying periods between applications. The stripping and sanding phases demand the most active labor, while applying finishes requires patience as each layer dries completely before proceeding.

Several elements influence dining table refinishing costs, with size being the primary factor. Larger tables or those with extensions require more materials and labor time. The wood type matters significantly—hardwoods may need specialized treatment compared to softer woods. The table's current condition also impacts pricing, as damaged surfaces need repairs before refinishing can begin.

Refinishing often proves more economical than purchasing a comparable quality replacement. Professional table refinishing costs between $150 and $400 on average, while preserving the original craftsmanship and character of your piece.

This approach makes particular sense for well-constructed wood furniture that would be expensive to replace with similar quality. For sentimental pieces or antiques, refinishing also maintains their history and personal value.

Professional furniture refinishers charge between $40 and $100 per hour for their services. This rate varies based on geographic location, the refinisher's experience level, and the complexity of the project. Some professionals offer project-based pricing rather than hourly rates, especially for standard-sized pieces like coffee tables or end tables. When requesting quotes, ask whether the estimate includes materials or represents labor costs only.

For tables with minor wear, you can sometimes refresh the appearance without complete stripping and sanding. Using gel stains and wipe-on finishes can address surface issues while preserving the existing finish underneath. This approach works best for tables with light cosmetic damage rather than those with deep scratches or damaged finishes. However, proper stripping and sanding remain necessary for comprehensive restoration or significant color changes for professional-quality results.
