"We hired Functional Floors to refinish the hardwood floors in our new home and install new wood in areas where there was none. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward project turned into a very disappointing experience involving poor communication, questionable decisions made during the work and a finished product that required multiple attempts to fix. Throughout the project, decisions were made by the crew without asking us how we wanted things handled. Those decisions resulted in visible filler, patched areas, and other issues in our newly refinished floors that required them to come back out and attempt repairs. For a project of this size and cost, we expected much better attention to detail and communication. When we raised concerns, the crew lead who originally did the work was confrontational and not helpful in resolving the situation. He left swirl marks and high and low marks on the floor and the corners are tuned up and did not get the stained all the way to the moldings. The day that he stained our floors he left the large container of stain wide open in our living room . Left all the trash on the job."
