"The job was done well. The communication could have been better. The job started on a Thursday. I wasn't told when of if they'd be back to finish. They showed up Monday morning without any notice to finish. My patio turned out nice, though."

"The provider went to my home and took care of the problem while I was at work and didn't require me to take time away to meet him at my home.  He reattached a portion of the gutter that wasn't properly attached.  He initially went out for gutter cleaning however took the time to correctly install the gutter and also cleaned the leaves out."

"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. Jeff, the salesman I dealt with was attentive without being overwhelming and the first order was delivered in about 4 weeks. The windows were exactly what I was looking for and fitting them was a breeze. I followed up with another order for the remaining 13 windows in my porch and again, they arrived quickly, were of great quality, exactly to size and easy to fit. Looking forward to see how they last their first winter."

"I had a fairly large patio cover installed by Scott's company in the spring of 2011.  He was very responsive to phone calls and on time for the estimate.  I had several estimates and decided to go with  River Region as I was comfortable with the estimate and explanation of the job.  I had an estimate for almost twice the amount I paid Scott.  When I decided to hire Scott's company for the job he upgraded the poles at no additional cost.  The patio cover was installed in 2 days as projected, looked great and the work debris was all cleaned up.  The patio cover has held up well over the 2 years since it was installed.  Recently Hurricane Isaac felled a large branch that damage a portion of the patio cover.  When normalcy was back, I called Scott to give me an estimate for repairs thinking it would be about $500 - $800.  He came out, assessed the damage and quoted a repair price of $250.  the repairs were done immediately after I gave him the go ahead.  One of the panels wasn't lined up properly and when Scott came to pick up his check he repaired it with no problem.  I wasn't a member of Angie's list when the patio cover was installed initially but wanted to leave a rating for the quality work and customer service that I received then and most recently for the repair."

"We just completed installing a motorized retractable awning from [*** Link removed ***] and are super pleased with the quality of the build, appearance and customer support.? This Italian-designed, engineered and manufactured awning is assembled and shipped from RetractableAwnings.com Florida plant, so if you need assistance with the install, you should contact a local handyman, carpenter or contractor.? Ours is a Palermo Plus, 16 ft. wide, with an 11 ft.-10 in. projection.? The Internet salesperson, Eric Scop, V.P., really worked with us to understand all the options and get fabric swatches.? We ultimately selected a combination Rain/Sun sensor and Vibration sensor to automatically retract the awning in case of heavy rain or excessive wind.? I spoke with Rocky, their installation expert, for advice on preparing the ledger board to attach the awning to our vinyl sided home, right below the soffit.? His advice was instrumental in making the install go so well.? Further, the awning arrived already programmed to the Soliris transmitter and the motor limit switches were also set.? It shipped in a fiberboard box (this one was about 17 ft long and 1 ft x 1 ft square, weighing over 200 lbs.), which was extremely tough.? The truck driver ignored the box orientation stickers and used a hand truck to move it from the center, rather than two hand trucks, one at each end, per the clear placarding on the box.? Despite this, it arrived in great shape, other than a couple minor paint scratches, which we will fix with touchup paint they are sending at no charge.? While the enclosed wall brackets were different from those described in the installation manual (an improved design), installing them was no problem. An extra bracket was included, which we also installed as this will be a large ?sail? on the side of the house and we want it to stay there. We extend our sincere thanks to the team at RetractableAwnings.com, and for those review sites that accept photographs, we include the following photo."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Fluker, LA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
