"Phenomenal experience with All Affordable Plumbing. They called instantly once I posted on Angi's List and had a team out within the hour to assess my situation. I had a gas line crack in the laundry room that ran under concrete slab, with the crack too low to easily fix. They presented all the options I had to repair or re-line the pipes, offered creative solutions in how to run and avoid needing to put holes in walls throughout the house, that no other Company had suggested. Competitive pricing as well. They were able to get a tech out within days. Ben showed up promptly at 7AM and worked through the day to finish running the new gas line to the laundry room. Great clean-up, offered to connect the dryer and washer once he finished. The work was excellent and I can't say enough about the Company and Ben. I won't be reaching out to any other company for plumbing issues again."
Pipe was completely packed! Drain cleaning was not going to do the job here!

"Sam arrived on time and he was very professional. He answered all my questions and also made good recommendations. After finishing the tune up, I shared with him that I can smell gas in the laundry room or outside the house from time to time for the last year. He immediately checked the connections of the pipe for the dryer and found one wasn’t sealed and there was a gas leak. The previous owner had this house for 5 years and probably they experienced the same issue. Sam fixed the issue . I do not have any gas smell anymore and most of our coughing and difficulty breathing has ceased. I really appreciate the knowledge and the help from Four Season."

"Seemed ok when they left, then the valve started gushing water (much more than before which was a drip) about 30min later. When I called again (to get that itemized estimate which I had requested) they said it was because it would get worse over time. After getting no estimate I decided to just google it myself to see the cost of the parts. When I did, I noticed the Relief Valve was left up and open. When I shut it, the pipe stopped leaking water in about an hour and went back to a slow drip (like it was before they visited). Seemed like negligence at the very least. I wasted extra money on my energy bill because of it (the water was coming out hot, so gas was being used). I should have just googled it myself in the first place instead of calling. Still needs to be fixed but I will find someone else to do it."

"We've been dealing with a gas leak in our house for over a year and a half. The gas company could not locate it and we had tried several different companies before we came across Perrin Gas on Angie's List. He came out on the day he said and was awesome! He found where we had small gas leaks behind the stove & refrigerator in the walls as well as in the furnace room. The price was very reasonable and well under what we were thinking it might cost. Best of all the gas smell is gone!! We were so happy with the work of Perrin Gas!"

"Second time we've called RB Plumbing, and we've always been impressed. Prompt, professional, competitively priced. We had a burst water pipe from the polar vortex. Ruben and his team were over promptly to isolate the issue, and quickly scheduled a permanent repair, along with a fix for an unrelated issue that we've known needed fixing. Crew showed up on time, and got the burst pipe repaired quickly. The other issue was more extensive than thought, but they were able to fix it within their original estimate for us (even though they had to run out for parts). Great experience, great work. We'll definitely call again if we have plumbing issues."

"I called MD plumbing late in the afternoon after trying for weeks to get a preferred handyman out.  I was unable to clear a bathroom vanity drain line and thought I'd have to replace very old cast iron piping.  I got a call back from MD that same afternoon and they scheduled work for the following day.  Before coming to the building, the owner called me to confirm what the problem was so that his guys could resolve the problem with material on their truck.  The guys showed up as scheduled and began rodding the line.  The spent 2 hours rodding two locations and cleared the blockage.  A repiping crisis was averted!  They cleaned up after themselves (wiped floors/cabinets) unlike some plumbers I've used.  I have nothing bad to say about any of their work. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Fort-sheridan, IL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
