"The technician was very knowledgeable and fast. He fully insulated the primary condensate drain line in the attic. Repaired end termination of primary condensate drain pipe at rear foundation wall. Replace media filter on return duct. He actually alerted me to the fact that the downstairs unit had two filters. One inside and one under the house. This restricts the air flow. Removing one would create better air flow."

"When my A/C stopped working on the Saturday afternoon of Labor Day weekend, I worried that I wouldn't be able to get anyone out to fix it until Tuesday. One of the "big guys" told me they could get me at 7 or 8pm, but they would need to charge me their "after hours rate". I called a few more places (with no answer) and then I reached Ted. He told me that he had a busy day, but he was close by and could stop by in 30 minutes. My A/C unit is old and I was pretty sure that the news would be that it had finally died and that it would need replacing. Lucky for me, it ended up just being a bad thermostat. Ted told me I could get one cheaper and install it myself to save money, but I asked if he had one he could install. He installed a new thermostat and stayed to make sure it worked. The whole thing (service call and parts) cost me less than the "big guys" were going to charge just to walk in the door 6 hours later. I will likely be proactively replacing my A/C unit in the next year and now I know who I will do it for me. I was more than pleased with the speed and quality of the service I received from Ted Cook Heating Service and I would recommend them to anyone who asks."

"We had a service technician come out to our home the same day I made the phone call. I was impressed from start to finish. Chisholm sent text messages confirming our appointment and when the technician was in route. They even text a picture of the technician. We had the pleasure of working with Bear. Bear is super professional and knowledgeable! He provided us with multiple options and helped us to make the right decision on what was best for our home. I would highly recommend this company and definitely use them again in the future for our home's plumbing or ac needs."

"Rob is a nice guy and it is great to call the service and have someone actually answer the phone. However, if the electricians are unable to keep an appointment within half an hour of the scheduled time, the company should be respectful enough of the homeowner time to communicate the delay. I had two back-to-back appointments, and the guys were two hours late for the second one. I know stuff happens out there, but Rob or someone else should have kept me informed so that I dont feel house bound during the wait. The service itself was performed to my satisfaction on both occasions."

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Fountain Inn, SC

Coils work to absorb heat into the refrigerant that flows through them, moving heat from one location to another. For air conditioning, the evaporator coil inside the air handler in your home absorbs heat. It then transfers the heat outside to the condenser coil, where it releases it. The opposite process happens for heat pumps. When the coils get dusty and dirty, it reduces how well these components work.

Skip regular cleanings, and dirt, debris, and mineral deposits will blanket your evaporator and condenser coils. When that happens, the coils can’t shed heat efficiently, so the system works harder and your energy bill climbs. Over time, overheating strains the compressor and can trigger a full breakdown—an avoidable repair that often costs far more than a simple annual cleaning.

AC coil cleaning is an investment that pays for itself in the benefits it provides. Dust‑caked coils force your AC to run longer, so you spend more on electricity and rack up extra wear. A quick professional cleaning restores efficiency, trims monthly bills, and eases strain on expensive parts. Over the long haul, that small yearly fee delays pricy repairs and stretches the unit’s lifespan, making coil cleaning one of the smartest HVAC tune‑ups you can schedule.

Watch for higher electric bills, rooms that stay warm no matter how low you set the thermostat, or an AC system that runs nonstop. Extra humidity and frost on the coils are also red flags. Catching these clues early lets you schedule a quick cleaning before the system overworks itself and triggers an expensive breakdown.

Your AC cleaning technician starts by shutting off the power to the unit and removing the faceplate. Compressed air and a vacuum hose blast away loose debris, followed by a coil-safe, no-rinse cleaner that dissolves stubborn grime. After the solution has soaked in, the professional wipes the fins, reassembles the housing, and restores power, leaving the system ready to cool at peak efficiency.
