"We were very pleased with our overall experience with Floors For Living. We had been shopping around for carpet and laminate flooring and Joshua was informative and helpful. The examples of laminate installed in the store helped us to make a decision along with Joshua’s expertise. The installation went well and Andrew called to follow up and make sure we were happy. I have already referred friends and family to the store! Happy that we found them!"

"I called and spoke with Will to have someone come out and look at the garage foundation, I knew I had a problem since I could see the crack running the length of the garage and the brick pavers had become unlevel on the side of the garage. Will asked me the questions...do you see any cracks in the sheetrock? are the doors hard to open and close? My answers were no, but I still needed someone to come out. He informed me they could not fix my problem and would not come out. Sounds crazy but I had to go through many people and had to tell them yes, there were cracks in the sheetrock so they would come out. I have never had to beg someone for their services. Finally, the inspector came out and said I needed 16 piers to level the foundation. Hmmmmmmm. On to the actual repair...the team came out when scheduled and began the work. A total of seven men started the digging process. It was hard for me to watch as my azaleas were removed, the deck boards lifted, pavers pulled up and the driveway jackhammered, but I knew it had to be done. These guys worked extremely hard even through the rain. All 16 piers were installed, some as deep as 18 feet, all in one day. Everything was replaced exactly as it looked before they arrived and all the mud and dirt was cleaned up before they left. It looked like it did before they started. Great job. I do need to comment on the woman that came out on the job....I guess she was making sure the project was going well. Her attire was definitely not appropriate for the workplace, she should never dress like that around all those men and she brought her young daughter with her. It was not very professional at all. Richard Pacheco, the owner, needs to be aware of the issues I had trying to get them to come out...I can't imagine how much work has been lost trying to get someone to come out. And he needs to make sure the woman that came out to the job is properly dressed. Other than those two issues, the actual job was great."

"Came at appointed time, gave me the estimate and worked quickly to blow in the insulation. They cleaned the garage floor under the opening and took 8 pictures showing the depth of insulation."

"Excellent job! I would highly recommend Jesus Sosa to anyone. He did a great job, was personable and extremely professional. I even signed up for their quarterly spray plan; even though i wasn't planning on it due to Jesus's professionalism and friendliness. I couldn't have had anyone more prepared for the job. He understood his products and was able to help me decide the best plan for treatment around my property. Many thanks!"

"Needed to encapsulate a crawl space on a new home. The owner was very knowledgeable about building science and prescribed a solution that was exactly what I needed. I cross referenced his proposal with several leading authorities online, and he was spot on. The operations staff were also excellent and did great work."

"We were so worried about the leveling process but with Leon Foundation we shouldn’t have been. The entire process from start to finish was handled with professional care and quality work! The crew that came to our home showed up with a smile and ready to work and work they did! We can’t say enough how pleased we are with the results we got. I’m sure now that having a lifetime transferable warranty will be honored just as well as the work they did. Thanks Guys!!!"

"Highly professional every step of the way, from the first contact to the last inspection of completed work. Speed-Dry president, representatives and office personnel provided excellent communication. They were available to answer questions, even outside of normal business hours. The dry-out process was completed promptly. The workers who came to our home were respectful and skilled in repair, drywall replacement, finishing and painting. It was obvious they took pride in their work. They were very careful to protect or move furniture, draperies, wall hangings, ceiling fans, cabinets and appliances (including the refrigerator) so these would not get construction dust or paint on them. They matched our paint color perfectly. They cleaned up after their work. We were surprised at how quickly the work was completed and are very satisfied with the whole experience. Representatives including estimator also understood exactly what was required by our insurance company and because of their thoroughness our claim was processed smoothly. <br />"

"We contacted Dennis at Sunbelt Roofing upon the recommendation of our realtor who had used his services before. During inspection of the house, the inspector found some damaged shingles. Additionally, he was unable to determine the age of the roof. The house is about 20 years old -- about the age it might need a new roof if it had not already been replaced. Dennis came out at short notice during the option period and determined that roof was only about 6 years old and confirmed the damaged shingles the inspector found (likely from house painters walking on that section). He gave us an estimate to fix that section and also noticed that the attic fans were not working. He quoted a price to replace them or to install turbofans instead. <br /> We ended up purchasing the house and called Dennis back to perform the work. This was the weekend before Christmas, and he was able to get out there without any problem. He and his men repaired the damaged area, installed the turbofans (which he recommended since those attic fans are prone to going out every few years), and also upon my request, removed an old satellite dish that we weren't going to use. Everything was time in a timely and professional manner. I didn't get on the roof to inspect the job, but I really didn't have to since I'm dealing with pros here. <br /> Value added services: we were having a new hot water heater installed at the same time the roofing work was being done, and Dennis asked if it was OK to talk to the plumbers since that job would mess with the venting out the roof from the hot water tank. He told me that he could come back and reseal where the vent pipe exited the roof and did so a couple days later at no charge. <br /> Overall, i would certainly use Sunbelt again. <br />"

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Galveston, TX

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
