"He called to confirm the time. Arrived on time, checked the furnance and determined the blower was the problem and needed to be replaced. He called a Lennox dealer and quoted me a price, picked up the part and replaced the blower unit. After it was installed he checked the furnance registers to make sure they were running properly. The entire process was done professionally. From the time I requested assistance from Home Advisory until the job was completed it was less than 4 hours. Very satisfied with entire process."

Customers say: True professional

"After calling the company that installed our HVAC system, they gave us an estimate for over $5600 because our unit was not under warranty. I found RPS on this site. Not only did he replace the evaporator coil but got it under warranty. He did need to replace a sensor as well but the total cost was only $1000, less than 1/5th of what the other company would have just for the coil. RPS Mechanical Services and Raymond are the best. Raymond is professional, quick working, knowledgeable, and honest. This will be our company from now on. Please save yourself time and money. Go with RPS Mechanical Services, LLC, you won’t be sorry!"

"Great experience! He arrived earlier than expected. The heating unit is working so that family would be warm doing the cold period this weekend. Other replacement parts will be ordered on Monday and he will return when parts arrive ."

"He did a really good job. He is a really honest person. He cared as much as to install the unit hanging in the roof instead on the floor to avoid all the vibration, which I think is great. I have recommended him already."

FAQs for thermostat installation and replacement projects in Raleigh, NC

Smart thermostats may be worth it for many homeowners. They come with various features, including voice control and smartphone apps. Vacation mode can help lower energy usage when you’re out of town for an extended period. Alert warnings let you know about major spikes or drops in temperature. Smartphone apps can track energy usage, and smart thermostats can learn your routine over time to adjust your temperature and reduce wasted energy consumption automatically.

You typically do not need more than one smart thermostat. While it’s common to see multiple mechanical thermostats throughout a large home, multiple smart thermostats may try to override each other. This can lead to problems with the HVAC system. Ensure the unit you buy has the option for dual- or multi-zoned systems to avoid compatibility issues.

Installing a programmable or smart thermostat may save you $180 per year in utility costs. A big part of this comes from a smart thermostat’s ability to learn and adapt to your regular routines. With smartphone apps or web-based interfaces, you also have the option to control your thermostat when you’re not home.
