"I can't say enough great things about this company. I am so pleased with my fence installed by Excel fencing and decking. Charlie, the owner, was great to work with and very helpful! The install crew that came out were very polite, hard working and did an amazing job from start to finish! I would definitely recommend this company."

"Fred worked quickly. He finished the entry gate and replaced part of the fence that was missing. His work was excellent. He did a much better job than the original company which installed the fence. Then he started attaching the wire fence to one side of the fence. Initially he was'nt sure if he'd be able to attach the wire to the entire fence and I did not expect him to because he had done so much already. Fred had to move some tree branches out of his way in some areas but he manged to attach the wire fence to the entire wood fence. He did a wonderful job and he his work exceeded my expectations. I would use this company again and I'm going to tell my friends and family about them.

"We are very pleased with the work that Don and his team did on our home. They installed a new roof. We live in a 1,300 square foot historic row home (1860’s) in West Chester borough. I got six estimates. Most were within a range of about $10,000 - $11,500, Don’s included. I know it sounds high for a house that small, but we had to have them take off cedar shingle covered tin roof and our property is very difficult to access. There is big tree out front and we don’t own the parking spots out back of our home, which are five feet or so higher than the yard (retaining wall), so there is no way to get a dumpster up to the house. The only way to get materials in or out is to carry them by hand or wheelbarrow. Going out the back, you also have to go up steps. Almost every contractor, except Don, expressed hesitation. One gave me an estimate of over $17,000. It was clear to me that the job was a difficult one and not one that many of the contractors wanted to do. Don also acknowledged that it was a challenge, but was enthusiastic about the possibility of having us as clients. Jeff and Ernie did almost all the work. They were friendly, focused, knowledgeable and hard working. If there was a question, Jeff could not answer, we took it to Don who was quick to respond. Our roof was leaking terribly by the time I started to call for quotes. It was very rainy that month and it was clear that all the contractors with whom I spoke were busy. Don did his very best to start the job asap. He even sent his guys out to tarp my roof until they could get to the job which prevented further leakage into my attic and damage to my ceilings. We now have the best looking roof on the block… by far. I’m a very “type A” personality who does her homework and has high expectations. Both my husband and I were extremely pleased with the work Don and his team completed for us. It will be a VERY long time before this house needs another roof. Thank you, Hardy Boys! (Sorry it took me so long to post my review!)"

"The Rosa team did a great job erecting our new 6 ft fence including a difficult section going up a sharp rise. They cleaned up very well and will return tomorrow to spray paint our new fence to preserve it against the elements. Fair price and great work."

FAQs for barbed wire fence installation projects in Georgetown, MD

Barbed wire is a type of fencing made from steel wire with sharp edges or points spaced along the strands. It's designed to prevent unauthorized entry or contain livestock by acting as a physical deterrent. Barbed wire fences are often seen in agricultural settings or high-security areas because they're effective, durable, and require little maintenance.

You can expect to pay between $3 and $6 per linear foot for a barbed wire fence, including installation. The exact price depends on factors like material quality, number of strands, wire thickness, and labor costs. If you have a larger project, bulk purchasing and hiring a professional might offer cost savings.

The number of strands you need depends on the fence's purpose and the level of security you want. For a standard livestock fence, you might use three to five strands. For higher-security needs, you may require more strands to meet your needs. Consider your specific requirements and talk to your fence installation pro to determine the appropriate number.

Barbed wire fencing regulations vary by location. In many residential areas, the use of barbed wire is restricted or prohibited due to safety concerns. Before installing a barbed wire fence, work with your barbed wire fence installation pro to check local zoning laws and homeowner association rules to ensure compliance with regulations.

The lifespan of a barbed wire fence depends on the quality of materials and environmental conditions. Fences made with high-quality, galvanized wire and proper coatings can last between 20 and 30 years. Regular maintenance and inspections can extend the fence's longevity by addressing issues like rust or damaged strands promptly.
