"Butch called back right away. Came out in a timely fashion. Got one unit working. Then he said the main board was malfunctioning on the downstairs unit and would have to be replaced. It would cost 1200 or 1300. But if we spent a little extra on a service contract he would wave the trip fee and it would be 1100 something. Okay. We did that. It was too late for him to get the board that day so he came out the next day to install the board. But the unit still didn't come on. He said the thermostat was bad and it would we 300 to 500 to replace the thermostat depending on what we wanted. My husband told him we could do that ourselves. Just by pass it and get the unit working. Then he came down and said that the blower motor was out and it would be 1800 to replace the blower motor or 2400 to just replace the whole unit and then we'd be under warranty again. I told them I wanted a second opinion before we did that. I called Ed & Sons they came out, confirmed that we did need a new thermostat. And said they could rebuild the blower motor for around 100$. I ordered two new thermostats for 300 for both of them and my husband installed the thermostats. The work they did was fine. But I felt like they were more of the school of let's just replace parts until it works or we can sell them a new unit. Rather than what can we fix."

"July 2017 OAT +101 (F) -one of my AC units stopped working. I called them at 3:30 P.M. Wed. and they tried to to help me that same day , but of course, with the temps in the 100's they were very busy with other emergencies. "Was hoping to replace just the actuator, but actuator model is discontinued. Stan's had previously replaced another damper unit in my house, so was expecting the same here. Price was higher than I think it should be, but was comparable to previous service. They use "standard" price list for services. Take that into consideration."

"The service was outstanding, as they called me first thing in the next morning (I purchased their service the previous evening at 9PM CST). Their service tech, Ryan came out that day to inspect and resolve the issue. He checked both systems and found that it was a dead AC battery in the smaller unit that was not allowing the system to provide the cold air. I decided to change the working battery on the larger unit also, as it was tested below the expected level of output. These batteries are expensive, but I prefer my AC units working effectively in the middle of a Texas summer. I was very happy with the service and price to resolve the issue on the smaller unit and signed up with their annual service plan. I really appreciate the fact that they came out on a Saturday to resolve the issue, as I had guests staying over the weekend and only reached out Friday evening to see if they could resolve (expected it to be the following Monday at the earliest). "Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. "Everything went smoothly up until I had a ceiling leak and we found that the condensation line to the other unit was broken during the installation. It was not carelessness but a poor design by the builder of the home. Anyway, they agreed to fix it and the damage it caused, without any need for me to make a lot of noise. My only complaint was that the repair was long and drawn out taking 4 or 5 visits to complete and the repairman was good but never came on schedule."

"What a fantastic experience!! I scheduled an appointment to have my system assessed for a mildewy smell with TKO after I had received poor service from another provider.  They scheduled me for the first available appointment, approximately 3 business days later. The next day, I discovered that my outdoor unit fan was not working. TKO originally thought that they wouldn't be able to come out until the next afternoon, but then did some digging to see exactly where their technicians were in the field, and figured out one crew was just around the corner. They fit me in, and were able to fix the problem in 10 minutes flat with the best attitude (it was already close to 5 on a hot day). They didn't even charge me!
On the day of my scheduled appointment, they arrived on time, and immediately diagnosed my mildewy smell. They had an easy solution to the problem. and provided education about way for me to easily do some preventative maintenance. They also recognized that my system had not been properly serviced by the previous company (which I was aware of) and offered to re-service it for me, which then qualified me for a discount for the service call for fixing the mildew issue.
All three technicians I worked for were very professional, very friendly, and provided useful information. They were careful about keeping the house clean. They did not try to upsell me on anything I didn't need, and even provided me some money-saving tips. I would be happy to work with this company as long as I live in Austin.
