"I was very impressed with David's responsiveness and every member of his crew was a pleasure. They completely removed the kitchen floor (and several layers of subfloor) in my 100+ year-old home, made repairs to floor joists and installed new flooring that looks beautiful. It was an evolving project and I appreciated the team's flexibility and speed with which they completed the project."

"I recently had my shingle roof replaced and I?m very happy with the results. The team was professional, punctual, and completed the job efficiently. The quality of the work is excellent, and the new roof looks great. They kept the work area clean and communicated well throughout the process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a roof replacement."

"Great work, very timely, professional, and pleasant to deal with. We contacted Dave after a friend of mine had an extensive amount of work done at his home. We are very happy with the job him and his crew did on our patio. We would definitely recommend him. We used UniLock Treo in Bavarian color with grey polymer sand,"

"I called Andi @ General Masonry at the end of June, and he came right over to take measurements and give me a quote on the spot. I thought it could take weeks to complete, since it is a 33' x 33' area including a pathway and wall with steps. He told me he would return in 20 days and he could get it done in 1 week. Twenty days later he was there with his crew, and a week later it was done. His men were very hard working professionals who worked with my suggestions and did everything that I asked. The work came out awesome. You can drive a Mack truck on it -- very solid. Lots of compliments from friends and family."

"When we decided we wanted to replace the wood burning fireplace we had with a gas insert, we contacted multiple companies and were told that we couldn't replace the old one because the opening was too small. Fire Finesse were the only ones who said we couldn't replace the old one because the opening was too small but no reason we couldn't take the whole fireplace (granite facade/mantel and all) and replace it with something else in the process. Obviously that made the job more expensive and complicated but we were totally open to it! It only took one visit to the showroom to figure out exactly what we wanted. The removal of the old fireplace and installation of the new one and stonework went smoothly - it took multiple visits and each time they were courteous and cleaned up when they left. The mantel was built onsite exactly to our specifications (we just showed Scott a picture and it came out as we wanted). He even came back a couple of weeks after the job was done when we had a very strong rainstorm and it was clear the cap they had put on the chimney hadn't been sealed properly. We texted him a few pictures and he came the next day and fixed it. Since then, we had an issue with the receiver for the gas fireplace (the remote wouldn't sync with it). And they came out and replaced it as it was still under warranty - no questions asked. We absolutely love our gas fireplace and the new facade/mantel is beautiful. We couldn't be happier with the decision to go ahead with this project!"

"He started our deck project two weeks earlier than planned. He methodically and meticulously crafted our Trex deck and the Trex platform for our gas grill. Keith is a perfectionist which we loved! He is a great communicator as well. A true carpentry virtuoso."

FAQs for outdoor kitchen building service projects in Glastonbury, CT

Building your own pizza oven can be a cost-effective option if you already possess the necessary firebricks or materials and have the skills to complete the project. When you have the required supplies on hand, you save on material costs and labor fees. However, if you need to source every component, a pre-made kit may not deliver the same savings.

Fire bricks are engineered to withstand the high temperatures generated inside a pizza oven, protecting the structure from cracking or spalling. Standard bricks can fail under intense heat, potentially damaging the oven and creating safety risks. By using true fire-rated bricks, homeowners maintain consistent cooking temperatures, preserve the oven’s structural integrity, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs. The modest increase in material cost is offset by longer service life and safer operation.

An optimal pizza oven installation positions the opening exactly between 36 and 48 inches above the ground to guarantee clear visibility and safe, comfortable access. This height optimizes heat distribution and ergonomic use. In addition, dome height can vary: shorter domes produce the signature soft, charred crust of Neapolitan pies, whereas taller domes are ideal for generating the robust baking environment required for New York–style pizzas.
