Adrian and Marie were prompt with a very competitive estimate which we accepted. They were both very receptive to addressing any questions or concerns we had prior to, during and for the final walkthrough. The crew performing the work very professional, very considerate to our property and provided us continuous updates as to the work being performed. The work performed consisted of tuckpointing two sides of the house along with chimney work and placing a cap on the two chimneys. As stated in a previous review, Vargas was honest, on time, and competitively priced! I'll continue to use Vargas Masonry and Roofing for the future work that I need on the interior brickwork and interior limestone foundation of our historic home."

"Needed a brick wall repaired that was damaged by a car. The brick could no longer be obtained so we decided to remove additional brick to reuse and add natural stone to make up some difference. Jordan provided professional services when many other contractors would not even bother to return calls or follow up with estimates. His pricing was very competitive and the work was done well and clean up was exceptional. I’ve already gotten a second quote for some additional work to be done in the future and I won’t bother looking anywhere else. "While at first glance the work looks good the contractor could use some lessons on detail. Basically, CR is painting the tile with a durable, highly adhesive paint. When painting it is customary to remove from the wall fixtures that can be removed in order to paint "behind" them-- i.e. light fixtures, electrical plates, etc. CR did none of that. They merely taped over the fixtures and went to town. The result is that around all of those fixtures I can still see a thin border with the original blue/pink tile. Worse, we informed them that one of the light fixtures would definitely be replaced with another with a smaller footprint and they still painted around it so now we have a large blue border around that fixture. In addition, CR failed to properly coordinate work with the general contractor resulting in some tiles going unpainted entirely. Some of those unpainted tiles were eventually painted but not all of them. Our experience with the durability of the product is mixed. The work in the hall bathroom has stood up to heavy use. There has been very little chipping and zero peeling. However, in the master bathroom the shower floor began to peel up less than a year after the work was complete. We called CR and it came out to repair. That repair peeled up less than a year later. We called again and CR repaired it again. It peeled up again and we called again. This time I was informed that to properly repair the peeling they would need at least $300 additional dollars. This was quite frustrating given that the shower floor had never lasted more than the one year warranty. Rather than pay for a repair I felt should have been done for in the course of doing good business I made the repair myself. I stripped off all the old paint, scuffed and etched the tile, and then used a contrasting textured concrete paint to refinish the shower floor. I looks much better and thus far has stood up much better than the original work. Overall, the quality of the work could be better as well as customer service. The product seems to be good if applied properly."

"There were a bit of communication gaps in the beginning, but the provider was very nice and efficient.  He did the work well, found a stone piece that matched our existing piece, and stayed within the budgeted price.  We recommended him to our neighbors already!

"Once again (my 4th time using this company), Stan and his crew came through to save the day. Late last week during heavy rain, I heard rain water dripping into my chimney, and it was coming out of the Electrical outlet next to our bed. I went out to see my old aluminum vent had been pulled up by the wind, and had exposed my chimney directly to the rain. I texted Stan the next morning, and within 4 hours his crew showed up, climbed up 3 stories, and cut the old vent off, and capped the chimney so no more water could get in. They were very professional, first, they checked all the bricks, and put extra mortar into several that needed it. Then they carefully sealed on a large piece of concrete board. I use Stan Mauk Tuckpointing exclusively for my brick house now, I dont even ask for estimates. I just ask to have the work done, and pay them after they've completed it. I couldn't be happier with the work, the Price, and Stan Mauk as well."
