"I am a senior with a background in construction.  After reviewing many contractors and speaking with some of them, I immediately knew I hit the jackpot when I spoke to Danny.
 
1.  He knew exactly what I needed and wanted done when I first spoke to him.  This entailed the replacement, repair, and installation of the items listed above with attention to quality in materials, prevention of future problems, a fair price, and a commitment to starting and showing up once the job was initiated.  Danny exceeded every expectation in these regards!
2.  I silently knew in advance manufacturers, quality and cost of exterior doors (including the french door), storm doors, door locks and deadbolts, leak-proof door sills for 6 inch exterior walls and a leak-proof barrier on the bottom of the door frames.  Without knowing of my preferences, Danny suggested the identical manufacturers and materials I had in mind.  At this juncture, we met and I hired Danny to perform the work.
3.  I am beyond pleased with the outcome of Danny's effort on this project.  As an example of his integrity, he asked me to trust him in the design and installation of an exterior octagonal window in a bathroom.  My wife and I were literally blown away with a handcrafted symmetrical waterproof tunnel and inside wall frame he created - more akin to an artistic piece than a window.
4. Inside work was always minimally invasive using tarps and soft shoes rather than work boots.  Outside and inside cleanup at the end of each work day was respectfully performed leaving no mess.
I would recommend Danny to anyone requiring any kind of interior or exterior installation, modification, or repair as I have seen firsthand examples of his experience, skills, and personal and business ethics.  In fact, Danny is presently working on costs to replace our roof."

"Summerland Gutters responded to my request for an estimate in a timely manner. During a rain storm, we realized we had an additional concern. They came out again and provided a timely response with a revised estimate. Summerland Gutters on-site staff provided me with information about how and where the gutters were becoming clogged. The paint on the new fascia matched the older fascia boards. They also let me know that the fascia that had to be replaced was made of PVC. They let me know that the flashing and the siding boards were in good shape. I appreciate that they completed the job professionally but also provided me with information about the house that helps me understand what I do and don't need to address at this time."

"*******6/8/2012 UPDATE:  Matt followed-through with his promises, therefore I modified the rating from an F to an A and have decided to give them another chance (in fact, I am increasing the frequency from bi-weekly to weekly).  I received a credit for the day my floor got damaged and I received a free cleaning today.  The quality of the cleaning was better than the last one - closer to the original cleaning on the day there was a crew of three ladies here (for two hours), and the two ladies still got done in two hours.  They now have a solid understanding of how sensitive our floors are to getting scratched, I suspect we won't have that problem again.   Matt has assured me that if two people get the job done in two hours, then the charge will only be $100.00.  The last two times they have been here they have gotten the job done in two hours (with two people), so I believe I will be paying $100/week (which is a very competitive price).  It would take my fiancee and I 8 hours to get our place this clean - I honestly don't know how they do it.  I suppose that we do a deeper clean, which takes more time, but I am happy with the level of cleaning that we will get from Elite on a weekly basis.  We can hire a special deep clean a few times a year if needed.  Thank you Matt, and crew, for making things right.*******

*******6/1/2012 UPDATE:  Matt called me on Wednesday (5/30) to discuss the issue.  He apologized up front and did not act defensive (which I deeply appreciated).  He clarified that if only a two person crew shows up then I only pay for the amount of time the two person crew works (he charged $125 - which would mean 2-1/2 hours, they only worked two hours so the charge should have only been $100).  He agreed that two people should have worked for three hours in order to achieve the same quality of cleaning that we got the first time.  He said that he is going to issue a refund for 5/25/2012 cleaning and he offered an additional free cleaning.   He also said for me to get an estimate for the floor repair because he has insurance to cover these types of issues.  Additionally, he said that if the quality of the cleaning is ever not as good as the first time, then let him know and he will have them re-clean to make it right.*******

****This past Friday (5/25/2012) was the second bi-weekly cleaning I've had done by Elite Cleaning Services.  I will start from the beginning of first point of contact with Elite (Matt) back on 04/30/2012:****
****I initially contacted Elite through the email function directly in Angie's List over the weekend, either on 4/28 or 4/29.  Matt contacted me early Monday morning to discuss the services I was seeking.  I was very pleased with his responsiveness right off the bat.  He discussed how he would determine pricing and said that I had to pay $9.99/mo membership fee in order to lock-in the price that would be established after my first housecleaning.  He quoted $25/hour per person and that he would have a three person crew to do the job.  He said that however long it took to do the first cleaning would establish my bi-weekly "locked-in" price.  He requested my credit card number, which I was okay with providing since I was so happy that his company could meet my required schedule (Friday mornings), they had some good ratings on Angie's List, and also since they used green cleaning products. ****
****A crew of three ladies (only one could barely speak English) arrived right on schedule for the first cleaning at 8am on Friday, 5/11/2012 (I didn't need them any sooner because I just had a deep clean done by another company).  The three ladies did a wonderful job, even wiped out the refrigerator shelves, baseboards, etc.  They finished cleaning the house in exactly two hours.   Within 10 minutes of them leaving, I got a call from Matt to see if I was pleased.  I was pleased with the job they did, and since Matt said the same crew would arrive every week, I locked in the rate of $150 per cleaning (+9.99/mo. membership fee to keep that rate).  He then asked me to go post a review on Angie's List since that is how he gets his business.****

****Two weeks later, at 8am on Friday, 5/25/2012, two ladies showed up right at 8am.  I only recognized one of the two (the leader).  They still finished cleaning in two hours, but as you would expect - three people cleaning for two hours can do a much more thorough job than two people in two hours.  They did a decent job, it just wasn't the same quality as the first cleaning.  But here is the reason I am grading this company so poorly:   On the first cleaning I informed the leader that the floors scratch VERY EASILY and that they could not let their vacuum cleaner roll around on the floor or scoot things across the floors.  They were very cautious the first time and even set their vacuum cleaners on top of a bathmat to ensure they didn't scratch the floors.  The second time they arrived they had a different type of vacuum cleaner (one that hangs from the shoulder).  It was clear that they understood that our floors are very fragile.   Anyway, while they were getting close to being finished with cleaning on Friday I came upstairs to see how things were going and I saw a very large scratch in the floor near the kitchen (in a very visible, common area).  I pointed it out and they shook their heads "no" like they didn't know where it came from.  I can assure you, we have babied these floors for two years and have only gotten a couple of minor (repairable) scratches in them.  We don't wear shoes in the house (don't let our guests wear shoes either), we have felt on the bottom of everything, and we simply do not scoot things across them.  It sucks having to be so cautious in your own home, but I didn't realize how fragile the dark bamboo was when I purchases it...  and now it is a discontinued item and I cannot get anymore.   The scratch was not there before they arrived. ****
****I went back downstairs and waited for them to finish cleaning.  When they were done I gave them their tip and said goodbye (a little after 10:00am EDT).    I checked on the scratch to see if they were able to make it look better after mopping.  They got most of the white stuff out of it, but the scratch was definitely very deep and visible.  I tried to fill it and buff it out with a special wood floor scratch pen, but it was too deep to repair.  It appears they either scooted their bucket across the floor, or part of a vacuum cleaner, or something.  It is possible that they didn't realize when they had done it, I will give them the benefit of the doubt.  But when I pointed it out and said it wasn't there before, they flat out denied it and wouldn't try to figure out what happened. **** 
****At 10:13am (EDT) I sent a text message to Matt that had a photo of the scratch attached, "Matt, the ladies made a very large scratch in the floor today.  I am very unhappy about this."  ****

"I came across this product at an exhibit booth at an unrelated convention, the initial quality of the product appeared superior to many systems out there so I set up a sales appointment. The appointment went as can be expected with any large commercial home improvement company, that is a bit high pressure, but outside of that it was pleasant enough. I've been around home construction for around 40 years now so I'm familiar enough with quality solutions. I'd already identified this as such and could have skipped most of the sales pitch (not delivering the full script seems to always throw off salesman :)). As I was replacing a current system for which the company had gone belly up, and thus the service guarantee worthless, I had done my homework for this sales call on the product, and was solely looking to determine the proposed cost for the project. I was a bit surprised when the installer came out and was operating solo. A helper probably would made for a better job. Bottom line on the installation....The removal of my old gutter system left holes in the facia where the screws for the old system went through, and some flashing around the old system restricting the flow of water back behind the facia was removed. It would have been wise calk and flash these areas accordingly, and it's required by the building code. Instead the new system was installed leaving the areas not previously susceptible to water damage now susceptible. The front of the house came out pretty close to perfect. The rear looks a bit wavy, which I presume is because without the aid of an additional hand to help hold the 40+ ft of seamless gutter, some drooping occurred. The good news is that the 2 days following the installation provided flash flood conditions and the new system appears to have zero overflow from the gutters. I'm adjacent to the woods so I'll update this review for the systems continued effectiveness in a leaf heavy environment. I'll also provide a post service review as to the installation deficiencies in the rear of the house previously noted. Hope the review helps!"
