"After first advising me to contact BGE to confirm that it was not the outside gas pressure regulator located before the meter (BGE's responsibility), I got an appointment for the next day. Derrick arrived when scheduled, and did a great job replacing the inside gas pressure regulator on the manifold. The cost was very reasonable and I would definitely hire Wallace Plumbing and Derrick again."

"I didn't have a working toilet upstairs. I called Star Plumbing early this morning. Mr. Tijani answered and said he would work me into his schedule and would arrive around 9 AM. Even with such a short notice, he showed up on time. He repaired my toilet. I am very pleased with Mr. Tijani's professionalism and service."

"CALLED AND MADE APPOINTMENT AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT IN THE NEXT DAY. THEY SAID THAT IT WOULD TAKE A DAY TO DIAGNOSE AND 1-2 DAYS TO REPAIR IF THERE WAS NO ENGINE DAMAGE. THE NEXT DAY WE WERE TOLD THAT AFTER TESTING WE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP AND NEEDED A WHEEL BEARING. TWO DAYS AFTER THE ESTIMATE THE VEHICLE WAS READY. THIS COMPANY HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY PROFESSIONAL AND PROMPT. THE SHOP IS CLEAN AND ORGANIZED AS IS THE RECEPTION AREA. ANOTHER PLEASANT EXPERIENCE WITH THEM."

"Perfect! Prime Plumbing answered on my first call and scheduled plumber to come out and inspect job and offer quote. I accepted immediately and the scheduled the job for exactly when I asked. The plumber, Donald, who came out to inspect and quote the job also did the job. He installed a new natural gas line and manifold, set up the pressure test for the county inspector, hooked the line up to BGE's meter after they ran the outside line, and then connected our new gas dryer and vent to the outside. He also supplied and installed a new sanitary sink and water supply and waste lines in our basement. His work was perfect! The price was very fair and competitive. Their office staff is friendly, helpful and answers the phone immediately. We will use Prime Plumbing for all of our future needs and they have our highest recommendation."

"Our tank water heater stopped working during the COVID-19 shutdown, and we decided to have it replaced with a tankless heater. Tankless Concepts responded within minutes to a voicemail left on Saturday, and a detailed quote was provided based on an extensive phone conversation and photos that I provided, including discussion of anything that could arise unexpectedly. The installers arrived on Monday, and the system was installed exactly according to plan, with the job completed in less than 5 hours. They arranged upgrade of the gas meter with Washington Gas (on the same day), removed and disposed of the old tank, arranged for utility rebates, and provided forms to apply for tax credits. The installation was done "contactless" during this pandemic. Everybody was highly responsive and professional."

"We had very damp walls on the moisture meter, and a dripping ceiling, after a repair for a burst pipe repair by a different company. The pipes were actually not leaking, but were running in poor spots with condensation issues and with exposure to elements. We called this amazing company, and the gentleman who came took extensive time for a very careful assessment, and found multiple issues, with condensation, with placement of the pipes relative to the outside, and explained the options for rerouting the pipes clearly. What could have been a difficult nightmare job, was done perfectly, and with care. Those walls have never been damp since and the work was clean, with respect for our home. This is a great company, I will always call them."

"Returned call in a timely manner; arrived on time; installed a new sump pump and checked to make sure it worked properly; he also adjusted the temperature on my hot water heater for me; addressed a leaky pipe; discovered a mold issue that I didn't realized I had (!) and so getting someone out here to address that will be my priority!   I will definitely be using PPS again and will recommend their service to others."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Greenbelt, MD

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
