"I called Garage Door 24 Hours after I found their name through a google search. "Searched on "Garage Door Repair Natick". This guy came right away. Very punctual. Said he would come between 5:00 and 5:30 pm, and would call me 45 minutes before his ETA. He called / and was at my driveway sharp at 5:15pm. He worked for an hour and fixed the problem. This guy Eli is a very knowledgeable and skillful service man. He is also very funny and entertaining. Enjoyed talking to him for an hour / watch him work. I am happy. Garage door works like well oiled machine. I recommend this company for your garage door needs."

"Terrible. We decided to order new garage doors through the provider. After significant delays and a number of phone calls and other communications that were not returned, the doors finally arrived. We were asked for more payment as there were additional "issues" with the installation. We had another garage program ongoing at the time of delivery (we waited 4mo plus for installation after being told it would be 6-8 weeks), and were not able to accommodate the installation of the openers we had ordered. The provider asked for full payment with multiple promises of return, but never did after 6 months. We have a series of unreturned phone calls and communications.

"Derek responded right away when I bought the Angie's List special of 4 hours of handyman work for $200.00.  He told me when he was available and we set up the time and day.  I had a lot of odd jobs that needed to be done such as: fixing the stairs on the back deck, putting up plant hangers, small painting jobs - basement windows, some stairs, etc., putting a screen in the storm door, putting away a large ladder in the garage that I could not lift, cleaning the dryer vent, fixing the lattice,  and looking at a side door threshold and explaining to me what needed to be done to repair it. He is very professional, clean and did excellent work.  I had bought the wrong wood for the outdoor threshold (it was for an indoor threshold).  I had difficulty getting the outdoor threshold, so Derek offered to pick up the material for me to install at a later date.   I have tried other handyman services and none of them had the depth and breadth of experience Derek has.  He also can get a lot of repairs done in a short period of time.  He doesn't rush it, but since he knows what he is doing, he can do a repair/job in short time frame.  He is very pleasant and personable.  I will definitely hire him again."

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in Greenville, RI

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
