"Patrick and Kyle Maloney are a father and son team in a family that has been providing plumbing services to the community for generations. They are top-notch professionals whose expertise and talents are admirable. Patrick stopped by to evaluate what would be needed, and schedule the appointment. In spite of area weather related traffic delays earlier in the day, Kyle arrived on time to provide the labor for this job. I was contacted by phone before he arrived. All this to say sometimes they work a large job together but this was a smaller job needing only one plumber. However, was it slightly more than just exchanging old faucets for new ones. The cold water valve needed replacement in the kitchen, the bathroom faucet drain needed re-piping. There was more, but you get the idea. The work was done quickly, efficiently, with clear explanations, and wonderful clean-up. The cost was $432 including tax and excluding the faucets ( I purchased them independently). The Maloney Plumbing team is polite, caring, pay attention to details, are highly skilled, provide quality work with a very laudable work ethic. Positively Impressive! I will hire again."

"We were initially impressed with the salesperson and went with Crisafulli for that reason despite their proposal being more expensive than other providers. Soon after the installation started though, so did our disappointment. The project was poorly planned, ultimately taking over a month (initial estimate 2 days) due to careless project management on their part. They also tacked on charges we were initially told would not be included and failed to resolve the issues we had with poor installation quality. If you go with Crisafulli, which I do not recommend, make sure you have a detailed SOW and can verify the work being performed."

"I called, left a message (since it was after hours). I got a call back within half an hour. They dispatched someone who showed up within an hour and fixed the A/C (capacitor was blown). We were happy to have it work again as the weekend was supposed to be a record temperature wise. I have been a customer for several years, had furnace and hot water heater installed by them and get regular service for furnace and A/C. Always great service. I highly recommend the company."

"I purchased a gas boiler from Polsinello roughly five years ago. It's worked fine until this winter, when it's developed an intermittent problem with the ignition after it's been off for a little while. I called Polsinello and they sent out someone to look at it. He was competent and diagnosed the problem to the motor on the fan feeding air into the boiler, said that it had been set at too high an RPM by the installer (also Polsinello) and had begun to vibrate and fail. Said he would get me a quote on replacing it, and that it should be covered by warranty. That was a month ago. Since then I've twice called the company and was told they'd look into it and get back to me. I haven't heard anything. I'd like to get the motor replaced before it fails completely and would prefer not to have to engage another firm and pay for a service call."

"Less than 2 hours work including them leaving midway through.. They removed toilet found flange was bad, removed about 1 &1/2 x 1 & 1/2 ft tile. As they left to go get part estimate was $400. By then they knew what work was entailed. Replaced part (found old part in side lawn) replaced toilet. Went from 400 to 722 and change. Their reasoning was I don't know what overhead for plumbing costs. Found out $400 is high end for work they did. Don't recommend unless you get cost in writing."

"Short story a 1 day install turned out to be 6 days over two weeks because: 1- they MIS MEASURED for the furnace 2- drilled through a bathroom wall running wires for the thermostat. Their fix is worse than the hole they created. the hole was about 1/2 inch and the patch is about 6"x4" and they do not match paint so our bathroom wall looks horrible. We have to get the paint and materials to fix it. 3- Four days after the install, the new thermostat died and had to replaced. They will not offer credit for our time/expense to fix the hole or the extra 5 days we had to be home so they could fix their errors When I called to speak to a manager, it took from 9/29 to 10/3 to finally get through to one (I called many times and only had 1 return call and he said they would fix all their errors and make things right). Another mgr called me back on 10/4 and left voice mail), I returned his call the same day and it is now 10/10 and still no return call. And we have been loyal customers for years (all HVAC service through Danz, had service agreements, hot water tank install, etc). This is how they treat loyal customers!! If I could give 90 stars, I would."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Guilderland-center, NY

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
