"We needed some replacement screen windows and were having a VERY hard time finding a company to help us. We FINALLY had success!! Of course it's 1,000 degrees out so we don't have the windows open at the moment, but as soon as it cools down a bit, I'm going to crack open these windows and get some fresh air. The process was smooth, The only reason they aren't getting 5 stars, is because the custom screens they installed have some small gaps in the corners. I'm not sure why that is, but insects can get in via these gaps."

"Outstanding Service by JCP Glass Works. I thought I had cracked a few small windows on a basement window. JCP arrived on a quick call over the weekend (they squeezed me in). I had an alarm indicator tell me the window was broken. It looked crack to me. JCP came and showed me there was no damage. Honesty and Integrity is a breathe of fresh air these days. They wouldn't even accept water from me. I recommend these folks with the highest accolades."

"Work done while I waited.  Screen was replaced and looked like a new iPhone.  Work done with quality.  I addition, my phone had dents along the frame and required additional work to get the screen to fit in flushed.   <br /> Highly recommend and will use again.  Prices are cheaper than doing it yourself, or the carts at port authority.  And they have the proper equipment. <br />"

"I called and we confirmed the price which was posted on their website to replace my windshield. <br /> We set up an appointment for the next day. The installer would call me in the morning and tell me what time. <br /> I was informed in the morning, that the windshield was not available locally and could we reschedule for the next day -- I did so. <br /> I was called the next morning and informed that it was more difficult to find the part and that the office would call me the next day. <br /> This was their only faux-pax (forgiven). <br /> I waited a few days and called. Very nice (always) on the phone. They looked me up and found the order -- It said it was NA (probably not available). The woman asked me to hold -- one minute later she came back and told me they had the part and asked when I would like to have it installed. We scheduled for today 9/11/2014. I got a call around 8:45 (I was told to expect a call between 8-9 am) and told that he would be at my home between 11-1. <br /> He showed up around 11:30. Fixed the windshield -- very professional. Put everything back onto the windshield (stickers, EasyPass, etc.) Vacuumed the front of the car afterwards. He cleaned the windshield as well. <br /> Finally -- he collected the payment and a receipt was emailed to me. <br /> All very professional. I didn't give an 'A' for price, because I saw a price quote elsewhere for about 10% lower. Of course, Arrow had better reviews -- better safe than sorry! <br />"

"Trevor was spectacular and totally qualified to lead his crew. We live near Limecrest Quarry and our windows get covered with lime dust. They actually look white and honestly, it is not the highest priority in our budget.. The guys did an mazing job and I will now have them spring and fall. They cleaned the gutters at $100.00 less than what I am used to, cleaned the windows inside and out and power washed the screens. We could not be happier with the results! Don't hesitate to call them!"

"We had an old deck that needed to be replaced.  When the old deck came down we had to do some grading of the soil.  Jim worked with us to schedule himself and the tractor work to make this happen.  The new deck exceeds our expectations.  Jim has great attention to detail and made sure that every part of the deck looked correct and pleasing to the eye.  We added string lights and outdoor lights to the project and he was happy to add that as well.  It is very hard to find people who are excited about your project and take ownership of it.  We found that in Jim and his team!  We are SUPER happy and would reccommend Jim to anyone. <br />"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Hackettstown, NJ

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
