"I purchased a pair of antique wooden sculptures on a trip to Paris in May.  When I received them one of them was broken completely in half!  I selected Raphael's based on their great reviews here on the List and also because their location in Stamford, CT is where I spend a lot of time. <br /> Upon meeting Mr. Mark DeVito (the owner) and seeing the repair shop I knew in minutes that I had found the right place.  Mark carefully unpacked the sculpture and determined the repair was possible and quoted me a very fair price.  He is a true craftsman and is a collector of many things so he has a deep appreciation of art, antiques, and history.  His shop was exactly what I expected; filled with old tools and many pieces of furniture in various states of repair.   <br /> Several weeks later I picked up the repaired sculpture and it was flawlessly repaired.  Mark even sent photos before I picked it up showing how he had carefully clamped and did the work.  After it was repaired he sent more photos too! <br /> Mark is a true craftsman and gentleman of the highest order.  His quiet manner and expert knowledge of  his craft is a treasure.  He performs true restoration and repair of fine old things in the tradition of the old masters of furniture I believe.  I have the highest regard for the services he offers and am so happy to have found him to repair my item.  I now consider him a friend and fellow collector. <br />"

"Cheryl and Paul were great to work with. The back of the chair had to be taken completely apart in order to fix the 1 spindle. They did an excellent job with the work and matching the existing stain. You cannot tell which spindle was replaced. I will definitely use them again."
