"Eleven years ago, I had a Bradford White electric hot water heater installed for one that was leaking through the bottom. Although I had to replace the elements several times, it never leaked. I called Ben Franklin Plumbing late in the afternoon, and they were here first thing the next morning. They gave me the cost to replace the elements and the cost to install a new Bradford White. This time, it made sense to replace it. They were done by noon with a 3-man team of experts. I checked with three big box stores, and although they were slightly less expensive, it was clear they would give their installers, whom I had no idea of, full responsibility. "I hired Thomas for a furnace tune up and to replace my filter because I couldn't figure out where it was in my unit. He showed up on time, didn't make me feel stupid for not knowing how to replace the filter, popped a new one in, tuned up and cleaned my unit and suggested some other routine maintenance that was overdue without pressuring me to do it now. Ultimately, I decided to have him clean my a/c coils while he was here since he had a little time before his next appointment. He showed up on time and called when he was on his way. "Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

"We hired A & R Contracting for a master bedroom closet renovation. They removed the old, outdated, ventilated wire shelving and installed new, custom-built loading shelves. They built the shelves off-site to help with the project efficiency. They did a beautiful job. Not to mention, they are very good working with the many surprises that come with the terrain of a 1930's home where nothing is plumb. Everything had to be customized to fit properly. They worked tirelessly to ensure I was satisfied with all the details of the shelving unit, such as building lips on the shelving edges, down to the quarter round molding. I really appreciated their professionalism and collaboration around the project details. They strive for the highest quality and take great pride in their work. They are very reasonable and their goal is to get the job done right. They have a strong work ethic and stand by their work. They have also installed both interior and exterior doors for us. Both were challenging projects due to house nuances. I highly recommend them."
