"I spoke with the owner at 2:30 in the afternoon and he was here for an estimate at 5pm. We booked an appointment for a new furnace that day. We had problems with the old furnace and the owner worked on it, attempting to replicate the problem. A Tech was sent out the next morning (free of charge) to get us through until the new furnace was installed 6 days later. Everyone we dealt with was VERY knowledgeable, explained each step to us, were expedient and very thorough. Pricing was excellent. This company will be the only company we call for ANY HVAC work. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!"

"I cannot say enough about our technician, Jordan, or the service of In Phase. We put our request into Angi and probably 1 minute later In Phase called. We have been wanting to upgrade our house to Ecobee since we purchased it two years ago. We thought we could do it ourselves, but our home had 3 zones, a two-wire boiler, and a newly added Central Air system. I had tried to hire other companies to do the job in the past, but very few companies were familiar with Ecobees. When In Phase called they were confident in the Ecobee system and were able to get us in the next day. Jordan showed up on time and was very personable and knowledgeable about the system. He had everything up and running in about 2.5 hours. This easily saved my husband and I a weekend of working on this, not to mention the fact that I didn't have to hear any cursing. (LOL!) BTW...we had already purchased everything, Jordan installed it and got it all set up for us. Many thanks!"

"The salesperson gave us many options, and we liked that we could replace just our furnace, and keep our existing AC unit, until it fails, keeping our overall costs way down. Also, to be competitive, they also included a free upgrade to a programmable / wifi thermostat, which we have greatly enjoyed, compared to our old cumbersome programmable one. We also qualified for both a energystar rebate, as well as a tax rebate, both of which they provided the necessary certificates / paperwork."

"Did not acquire the automobile so the services were not needed. However, the company was very responsive with a comprehensive bid and an appropriate followup. I would give them the opportunity to bid again should the need arise again in future."

"There are always surprises when making home repairs. My window had to be adapted to accommodate the AC size and we had to find the circuit for the proper outlet Dick had the supplies he needed to get the job done and made additional adjustments so that I can take out the unit in the winter. The cut-to-order shades were a little narrow and he knew how to adjust the brackets so that they would work. One would think that replacing light bulbs would be at anyone's level of expertise but Dick reminded me that it is best to replace all of the light bulbs so that I don't have to do it again when an older bulb burns out. I would not have thought of that. The remote thermometer needed to be integrated with the inside one and Dick knew just how to do that. The table lamp is old and I didn't know if it could be repaired. I like its construction and was disappointed when it fell apart. Dick knew just how to fix it. I have called on Dick's Fix It for 4 years--both on my current house and the previous one. His problem-solving skills and expertise always amaze me and I know that I can rely on him to resolve anything that he encounters. Dick is courteous, professional, and a partner in servicing one's home. If you want a handyman who will go beyond the expected and do an excellent job for you call Dick's Fix It."

"Steve Glupker was SUPER. I'd hire him again in a heartbeat. <br /> He knew I was under a timeline to get my house listed for sale and did everything he could to help me make that deadline. He was communicative, punctual, and fair in price. I think what I liked best about working with Steve is that I never EVER had to worry about whether he would show up for work on a timely basis. He always came when he said he would, and he followed up all inspections with a phone call or text to see if there were any problems. He made a stressful house-selling time much less stressful for me because I knew I didn't have to worry about him or his work. <br /> Steve is a one-man show, so anyone hiring him should be prepared to help if he needs assistance carrying in drywall sheets or heavy lumber, etc. It's worth it, though, if you can spare the time to give him a hand the few times he might need it. <br /> Also, Steve enjoys the company of his big black dog and quot;Charlieand quot; and he might ask you if it's ok if Charlie can hang around during a job. If, however, you prefer Charlie to wait in the car or at home, Steve respects that. In my case, it didn't matter to me if Charlie was around, wagging his tail during a job, because it was clear between Steve and I that if Charlie caused a problem, Steve would be responsible for it. Charlie caused no problems except be aware of Charlie's powerful tail wagging... LOL <br /> As a workman, Steve was a perfectionist and everyone who entered my home after the job was done was highly impressed with his work. His drywalling was beautifully feathered and his wood cuts were true. He cleaned up after himself and was always polite and positive. I really liked his work a lot. <br /> I would caution people who hire Steve on just one thing: If Steve should recommend an electrician friend named Dave, I might steer clear of hiring Dave to do your electrical work and opt for another electrician instead. Dave did good work for my job, and I have no doubt his electrician skills are good, but I did not care for his communication skills or that the permit cost was high because Dave work's under another electrical firm. In the case of my job, while the electrical work was fine, Dave's poor communication put both Steve and I in a bit of a frustrating position due to delays. Steve can handle minor electrical work himself, but if your job requires higher level electrical work, I would research your own electrician. <br /> Bottom line: Remodeling by Steve was an extremely satisfying experience. I'd hire him again as he does good work for a good price with good communication the whole way. <br />"

FAQs for thermostat installation and replacement projects in Hartford, WI

Smart thermostats may be worth it for many homeowners. They come with various features, including voice control and smartphone apps. Vacation mode can help lower energy usage when you’re out of town for an extended period. Alert warnings let you know about major spikes or drops in temperature. Smartphone apps can track energy usage, and smart thermostats can learn your routine over time to adjust your temperature and reduce wasted energy consumption automatically.

You typically do not need more than one smart thermostat. While it’s common to see multiple mechanical thermostats throughout a large home, multiple smart thermostats may try to override each other. This can lead to problems with the HVAC system. Ensure the unit you buy has the option for dual- or multi-zoned systems to avoid compatibility issues.

Installing a programmable or smart thermostat may save you $180 per year in utility costs. A big part of this comes from a smart thermostat’s ability to learn and adapt to your regular routines. With smartphone apps or web-based interfaces, you also have the option to control your thermostat when you’re not home.
