"We would not hesitate to recommend this company based on our positive experience from the start of this project to its end. The owner, Ralph, is highly responsive (promptly answering texts and emails and providing a copious amount of relevant information) and exceedingly informed about the equipment he suggests. We trusted him immediately upon our first meeting, relying on his expertise to provide us with the system that would best meet our needs. I was grateful to feel comfortable allowing him to choose the appropriate components for us as it saved me hours of research time. He emailed a very detailed, reasonable and impressive proposal, without any pressure to upgrade beyond what would work in our space. Due to a delay in the receipt of some components, our scheduled installation date had to be moved. Ralph was extremely accommodating, fitting us into his already busy schedule so that our lives would not be unduly interrupted. He and Kevin (a very nice compliment to the team) spent most of one day installing the new system, insuring that all was functioning. Ralph remained at our home into early evening to review the operation of our new remote which operated all of our components. He was unfailingly patient and checked to make sure that we were completely comfortable with the system. In this day and age, it is not always guaranteed that one will have a positive experience with a business. Ralph creates that positive experience with his winning personality and obvious regard for his customers and their satisfaction."

"We used Fairfax Antenna to install a HD Antenna on our roof so that we could cut our cable and leverage internet services for TV along with the antenna to get local channels. I am writing this review after a month of the antenna being installed to monitor the performance. To date, everything is absolutely wonderful and my channels come in with full signal strength. We had invested in about 3 indoor 50 mile antennas, but they were never consistent no matter where we placed them in the house. The gentlemen were professional, made great recommendations, and we're quick and tidy about their work. I live in the Washington DC area, and we get channels as far as Baltimore in HD. I used the two runs, just in case we needed to split, but we use a product called HDHOMERUN Connect to route the signal through our network. Any TV we have used for accessing local TV, the channels come in sharp and crisp with zero issues. I highly recommend Fairfax Antenna."

"My second appointment with Geek Choice in March went well. The phone call from the office to determine what I wanted to accomplish at the visit is a great idea. I would say that here is where Geek Choice can look for complications. For example, someone who's used a computer at work and at home may still be unaware of some basic ideas. For example, if a device is to be added, does it need to be charged, does the person have the correct cable or battery, etc. Young people know this; older people do not necessarily.
The representative was courteous, knowledgeable, patient, and offered additional tips. He arrived within the time frame specified.

"Wihome Integration Did an absolutely superb job installing a new home theater projector, receiver and associated HDMI cable. They were very helpful in finalizing our selection of equipment models. They went well above and beyond to make sure they could fish the cable through our ceiling and wall with minimum wallboard cuts - in the end only a single cut was necessary.. They were extremely accommodating to work around our schedule constraints. They arrived promptly on time, got the job done on the schedule they had promised, and all of their work was very high quality. I would not hesitate to use them again!"

"My father-in-law had an old (1994) RCA VCR that no longer had an audio output. Since he's 87 years old, he had no desire to "learn" how to operate a new unit. At a fair amount of cost and a whole lot of hassle, I shipped the unit to the RCA contract repair facility (Venturer Electronics, a/k/a Alco Electronics, in Ontario, Canada). Two weeks later, I received the unit back in the mail unrepaired, with no explanation. It took me another long and irritating hassle with several "customer service" representatives to find out why the unit had not been repaired -- no parts for the VCR any longer, they finally said. Fortunately, a few weeks earlier I had stumbled across Mike Phelps through a reference from Graffiti Audio (in Bethesda, MD), when I asked whether they repaired TVs. I had called Mike -- who makes house calls -- and he seemed quite knowledgeable, but the TV problem ultimately resolved itself. I decided to call Mike again, not expecting that he could repair an electronic "antique" when RCA's own contract facility could not -- but there was no harm in asking. To my surprise and delight, Mike said that he frequently had calls for just this sort of thing -- repair of old unsupported electronics equipment that people didn't want to abandon -- and he expressed complete confidence that he could repair the VCR. I dropped the unit off for his pick-up at Graffiti Audio, and, true to his word, Mike delivered it to me in like-new condition three days later! (I hadn't asked Mike for a cost estimate first, since, given the history of the VCR, price wasn't really an object for me, but I had no problem with Mike's charges.) Mike doesn't advertise, has no store front, and no e-mail (!), so he's not easy to find. If I hadn't inquired of Graffiti, I never would have found him myself. I'm really glad I did, because It's obvious to me that Mike is an "old school," highly skilled electronics technician. He knows how to repair electronics at the component level (the VCR had a blown capacitor), and isn't just a module "easter-egger." (Ironically, I later found that the Washington Post had written about Mike in a January 28, 2007, article entitled "Fix Machines That Time Has Passed By." The reporter, Dan Zak, had almost exactly the same kind of "antique" electronics problem and the same outstanding experience with Mike that I did.) While my experience with Mike was admittedly limited to repair of an old VCR, I have no doubt, after having met and talked with him, that Mike can perform much larger audio-visual repairs and projects; for example, he holds himself out to accomplish home-theater and whole-house audio-video installations. Mike is a very impressive guy whom I will call again for any A-V electronics repair needs!"

"Up front, the only issue this time was they were an hour late, but there was some bad weather the night before. And the only reason I did a "B" this time was there was no "we're on the way" email or call. But that's extremely minor.
Overall, they did an excellent job. We'd had them out to do the living room recessed lighting, and got a quote to do the rest of the house with fixtures we'd already bought for the bathrooms, hallways, foyer, and dining room. We also discussed adding the recessed lighting to the kitchen (replacing fluorescents) and master bedroom (no central lighting).
They were very patient with my wife and I as well, as I had to call her to check on positioning of the recessed lighting, and working around the structural issues in the house. The master went easy, the kitchen a little harder with pipes going around, but they did an efficient job poking around for obstacles before putting a big hole in the ceiling. They even tossed in changing out the inside plate of an existing recessed light in the kitchen so it matched, which I was appreciative of.
At one point, they realized they didn't have any dimmers for the two replacements, and they hadn't put a dimmer in the kitchen (because usually they don't do dimmers there). They ran out to Home Depot and got three dimmers, and added one to the kitchen at our request.
We were very pleased with the work and the price, and if we have future electrical issues I'm calling these guys up."
