"Val and I spoke on the phone regarding my refrigerator that was leaking water from somewhere. He said he would be able come by between 12-3pm. I appreciated that he texted me with his ETA when he was on his way here. Arrived promptly, diagnosed the problem quickly, had to make a short trip to the Ace Hardware near me to get the correct size valve for the water line. Replaced the valve, tested it, working properly, all set! I'm very grateful that he was able to come out so quickly today and took care of the problem. Very nice serviceman. I will be happy to hire him next time I have any issues!! "

"James was prompt, hardworking, diligent and very reasonably priced. He installed a chandelier in our 18 foot family room and did a great job! I would absolutely use him again in the future. I think we found ourselves a good, reliable electrician."

"My late-90s Sub-Zero 650 broke and I was anxious to find someone to help. They were able to send someone for same-day diagnostics and even suggested starting the repair within two business days — which is extremely rare. Communication was clear, they offered flexible options and a suggested timeline. Wishing the owners all the best!"

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Highwood, IL

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
