"Had to reschedule a few times, but otherwise Wasatch was great. Will be looking into purchasing a maintenance package with them to make sure everything stays running."

"Excellent customer service. Garrick was prompt, personable and very knowledgeable. We had a complicated issue with our air-conditioner which he took a lot of time to resolve. His expertise saved us a lot of money on an issue others may not have tackled. Highly, highly recommend this company for your HVAC needs."

"When he arrived, I told him I had changed the filter, sprayed off the outside unit, and checked the vents. All things I found online to check before calling for service. He proceeded to tell me to try those things again and was getting ready to go. I asked if there wasn't anyway he could check anything else. He reluctantly put a camera inside the furnace and showed me that the coils needed to be cleaned. Finally, the real reason for the coils freezing. If I had let him leave, I would have been without air conditioning for another couple of days. Why didn't he want to check that to begin with? At that point I didn't trust him and his bid was high so I shopped around and had someone else clean the coils."

"Sunday morning, at the end of a long holiday weekend, freezing and dank outside, of course at this time the heater went out. We called Larkin, which sent a repairman right over. With no more work than was necessary, the heater is now working! Despite the inconvenient time, the repairman, whose name is Anthony, was cordial, and, patiently and knowledgeably, he answered all of our many questions. Terrific service at an economical price!

"John inspected our furnace, he was very professional and did a very thorough job but encountered an unusual and difficult to diagnose situation. John immediately called an expert with 35 years experience and arranged for him to come to our home the same afternoon. We appreciate John's honesty and how courteous he was. Norman was extremely knowledgeable and was able to diagnose our unique problem which came from improper installation of equipment by the home's builder. Every detail was explained and he had specialized equipment which allowed us to see and understand the problem. Norm is an asset to be sure. Todd - Even though it was after hours, Todd came to our home that same evening. After a careful analysis our home he gave us multiple options to resolve the problem, full explaining every detail. Todd was thoughtful, thorough and very helpful. Together we found a solution for our needs. We appreciated the concern shown by all three of these professionals. A+"

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Hill-afb, UT

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
