"Wonderful experience. <br /> Mr. Mickey arrived promptly at our appointment time and was very polite and courteous. He was extremely knowledgable about our home's structure before even going to our basement to take a look. We have an MI track home and were beginning to notice several changes in the floors and basement walls, which was concerning to us. We had already had contractors out to assess what was going on, but after receiving very large quotes for work we weren't sure REALLY needed done, we decided to call DLM. Mr. Mickey did point out a couple repairs we should make, however they were nothing even close to what the contractors and been trying to sell us. It's not that the contractors weren't knowledgable or that I was worried they wouldn't do a great job, they also had great reviews and came highly recommended. However, at the end of the day, they get paid more the more work we have done. <br /> I'm really glad we decided to get the advice of a neutral third party, someone who is an expert and who has no incentive to sell us something we don't need. Mr. Mickey gets paid the same whether your house is in perfect condition or whether it's falling down. In our case there wasn't much wrong, but even if he had given us bad news, I'm confident my review would be the same. He knows what he's talking about and he'll be honest with you. And it is more than worth his fee to get piece of mind and know exactly what's going on with your house (especially if your contractor is quoting you thousands of dollars worth of work, what's a couple hundred to be sure?).  <br /> We had originally asked for a signed structural report. However after our inspection Mr. Mickey was honest enough to tell us it probably wasn't worth it, he'd do it if we wanted it for our records, but in the end he saved us a $100. He could have easily gone back to his office and whipped up what probably would have been the smallest report in his entire career and taken as easy $100 for it, but he didn't. I think that's an excellent quality and if we were need help again, we will definitely be calling DLM. <br /> To anyone worried about their home's integrity or considering having work done: call Mr. Mickey. He is extremely knowledgable and will tell you exactly what you need, nothing more. <br />"

"It went smoothly exactly as Paul described the job. His crew installed a sump pump and ensured in drained to the curb. The crew replaced the drain run to the curb and dug around the existing bushes. The crew also connected the the roof downspout to the run to the curb.The crew installed a perforated pipe in a trench which created a floating basement floor on 3 sides of the basement. (the 4th wall was not necessary since was an interior wall.) They concreted over the pipe with a gap to the wall. they repaired and painted the basement walls."

"One screw type pier installed. 2 workers hand dug hole below bottom of foundation. Cleaned out under foundation for platform. Although foundation was deeper than I thought, the hole was done much better and quicker than I envisioned. Pier was screwed at bottom of hole with a hydraulic motor. Once limit on hydraulic pressure was reached, the pier was cut at proper level, platform installed, and cracked section of foundation was raised with a hydraulic jack. Crack in stonework closed up nicely without going too far and creating additional cracks. Workers had 5 and 15 years experience doing this work. Very professional and did a very nice job every step of the way. Note that I (homeowner) chose to move and reinstall landscaping stones and gutter drain. Also, tuckpointing/repairing the cracks was not included in the quote. I plan to do that myself at a later date."

"We were extremely grateful for Rick and Lori's commitment to try to meet our needs. In the end we unfortunately were not able to choose RLG because of our budget. The old structure of the home required more updates to bring it up to the quality of the new addition, and in the end we were faced with a completely different option of tearing down the house and building from scratch. We ended up going with a higher volume builder and had to make a few compromises on the quality of finish materials to achieve this within budget.  <br /> I wanted to make sure, however, that anyone considering RLG should know that they are kind, patient people and they gave us much more attention and consideration than the other builders we talked to. In our search for a builder, we had one builder fail to show up and then call 2 hours later asking if we were ready to meet, we had another tell us we were crazy, we had a third come in right around RLG's budget but it took forever to get the quote, another kept saying they would give us a quote and never did, and of the two new home builders we spoke to, one resisted quoting us because of our narrow lot and the last one (that we chose) gave us a very straight forward plan. It took us 6 months to get enough information to understand the market and disparities in prices. RLG was highly considerate and asked a lot of questions about what we wanted because they were genuinely seeking to satisfy our needs. We were highly appreciative of their patience and in the end we regretted having to change these plans. If we could have afforded the remodel path, RLG would have been our preference. Nicest builders we found. <br />"
