Customers say: Quick response

"Tom's Heating and Air showed up early for the free estimate, on a Saturday. He figured what was wrong...the 2nd floor AC unit was shot. He made an appointment to return the following Monday at 9a He had to get in line to pick up a replacement unit at 7a - warehouse. Again he showed up about 8:55a got the new unit up and running by 10:20a. It was appreciated because the heat wave hit us, and the repair/replacement was very timely. Excellent work. May not have been quite accurate on the credit charge, (the charge credit companies charge vendors) but that was O.K. by us.. Tom can consider a TIP. Maurice & Susan Kaneshiro Lake Elsinore"

"I had a mixed experience with Douglas. The curtain rods were not hung straight. No tools were used such as a stud finder or measurement tool. The wall-affixed garden hose was drilled in the wrong place and a second hole needed to be made into the side of my home. Caulking was used to fill the hole but damage was done. I recommend getting an in-person estimate from Douglas for your repairs. Fee $400 covered book shelf reinforcement, hang 4 curtain rods, hang 3 large frames, affix 2 retractable garden hoses to sides of home."

"We were dying from heat during this heat wave and of course our HVAC went out. Our technician Steven was awesome. He came on time and fixed the problem within 30 mins. No upsell and a total straight shooter. I would’ve paid $1000 yo get fixed but it only cost $85. Highly recommend Steven and his team."

"I called Patrick Stone ("The Door Doctor") on Tuesday morning 5/26/2015 and left a message inquiring about repairing my front entry door. Pat returned the call that afternoon and came to look at the problem (interference between the door and threshold). He said a bottom metal strip on the door was damaged and would have to be replaced. We made a repair appointment for Monday 6/1. On Sunday 5/31 I sent him an email advising that I had some other door repair tasks in addition to the entry door. Pat called back that afternoon to indicate he did not have the required repair part for my entry door and he would have to purchase it Monday morning, so he expected to be several hours late. I agreed and said it wasn't a problem. He arrived at 1030 and immediately started work. The repair involved removing the door, removing the old metal strip nailed to the bottom of the door, installing the new strip and remounting the door. Pat had it finished in a half hour. The problem was solved and the door fit perfectly, but the deadbolt lock would not close. The original alignment was marginal, and the repaired door (which was aligned with the door frame) was now out of alignment with the lock strike plate. Pat reamed out the strike plate a small amount and the door and lock now work perfectly. <br /> I also asked Pat to repair a bifold door guide. I had purchased a replacement part but the door had a metal mounting bracket which Pat had to remove in order to use the replacement part. He successfully completed that repair in about 20 minutes and the bifold door now works perfectly. <br /> I also asked Pat if he could repair a sliding screen door which was missing a top roller. He said he couldn't repair those as the roller was not replaceable. I suspected as much but thought it didn't hurt to ask. <br /> Pat did an excellent job of cleaning up the job site, and charged $235 for labor and the entry door part. <br /> Pat is a conscientious and knowledgeable tradesman, and I would certainly hire him again if the need arose. <br />"

FAQs for thermostat installation and replacement projects in Homeland, CA

Smart thermostats may be worth it for many homeowners. They come with various features, including voice control and smartphone apps. Vacation mode can help lower energy usage when you’re out of town for an extended period. Alert warnings let you know about major spikes or drops in temperature. Smartphone apps can track energy usage, and smart thermostats can learn your routine over time to adjust your temperature and reduce wasted energy consumption automatically.

You typically do not need more than one smart thermostat. While it’s common to see multiple mechanical thermostats throughout a large home, multiple smart thermostats may try to override each other. This can lead to problems with the HVAC system. Ensure the unit you buy has the option for dual- or multi-zoned systems to avoid compatibility issues.

Installing a programmable or smart thermostat may save you $180 per year in utility costs. A big part of this comes from a smart thermostat’s ability to learn and adapt to your regular routines. With smartphone apps or web-based interfaces, you also have the option to control your thermostat when you’re not home.
