He evaluated the furniture and gave us a very reasonable estimate and timeframe to complete this sizeable job. "We have an auto-maintenance agreement with The Door Refinishing Co, Inc( HappyDoors) and are 100% satisfied with their service. Several years ago (5-7) they refinished out faded and finished damaged front door. It is brutalized with the western setting sun. Since that time we have a refinsh agreement every 6 months ($79.95) and our front door appears new and beautiful year round ! And, we don't have to be home or leave door ajar during and after the maintenance (but you do for initial refinish but door is completely sealed with plastic to prevent wind and dust from home and refinished door). We are so happy to have found this company with prices, availability, punctuality, coutesy, and professionalism ! Complete refinishing of course took a little time and maintenance is done rather quickly. No inconvenience at all on maintenance ! We would use no one else for our doors !"

"Before you read all of this - and I have deleted some - know that I was very much and pleasantly surprised to receive a check in the mail with a nice note apologizing! Let me say that up until now, his work was beautiful. He is talented. BUT he should never ever have agreed to do this job. Why? Because as he himself states, he is not proficient in the use of drawer glides. I sent him pictures of the cabinet and told him what I wanted and he said yes, he could do that. I paid to have the piece delivered to him. I went there and we discussed what I wanted and he made suggestions. The drawers would fully extend and the depth would accommodate the CDs on end. Great. Just what I wanted. Did I want fully extendable drawers? Yes. HOWEVER, when the job was completed and I went to his shop to see it, the drawers are beautifully made, the decorative element on the front does slide out from the piece BUT the drawers did not open and close with ease, much less smoothly and certainly did not self-close without a push. This was when they were empty. He said they were the "only slides available" to him. I said what about Home Depot or Lowe's, they have fully extendable and self closing drawer glides. No, he ordered them from somewhere by the weight of what I wanted to put in them. We are talking about. By the weight? We are not talking about pots and pans here or china plates, we are talking about 2 rows of 25 CDs each.Anyway, he assured me these were the only ones available to him for what he wanted them to do and that when they had the weight cds in them they would work properly. Of course I believed him not to mention I hate disagreements. Well, with the addiditon of the Dcs and DVDs, the drawer situation was worse. Then out of the blue - the note and a check! I used the money to have the glides replaced and all is well. So, all is well."

"I called Matthew about refinishing a very large old library conference table we wanted to use as a dining room table. He came over and gave an estimate that was in line with others we had received. He seemed to know his craft well and we decided to go with him. We were not in a massive hurry to get the table back so we gave Mathew an approximate 2 month window for completion. He was very responsive with any phone calls and updates. I never had an issue getting a hold of him. The table restoration ended up being a little more complex than we thought but Matthew always discussed any issues and the price change. The end product was just wonderful and we are very pleased with his work. We have no hesitation with recommending Matthew for wood or furniture restoration. <br />"

"They needed to be restored. He came by and picked them up and charged a small fee. He did an incredible job. They are better looking and when they were new over 100+ years ago. They just look fantastic. He called me back and let me know how the process was going. He took his time and did the work on my schedule due to my move. I have used him in the past too and when he repairs things, they always come back with out a mark, scratch or ding! He is a real artist in restoration."
