"John was very helpful in showing us all the aspects of our sprinkler system. He informed us of necessary servicing needed, as well as parts that will likely need to be replaced soon, and ways to do things ourselves. He was great to work with!"

"Yes, he was kind, courteous, and professional. Excellent job and a decent price. The hedges/bushes were a mess and so over grown. He made some sense out of them and made them look decent again. I want to get them totally out and hopefully Quality Garden Services will assist again at a later date."

"Valentine and his crew at Brilliant Landscaping did an excellent job! From the initial call all the way up until today (2 months post job completion) he has been very responsive when I have contacted him. The backyard in a home we recently purchased had been neglected for well over a decade. Brilliant Landscaping did a superb job giving it a facelift. They listened to what we wanted completed, and offered suggestions how our ideas could be improved. However, Valentine was always willing to do as we asked even if it went against his suggestion. Honesty is clearly an important part of his company. Below is a list of all the work completed. Removal of old fence and installation of new cedar fence. Removal of retaining wall and surface rock. Removal of 7 trees. Poured a concrete patio. Removal and rebuild of retaining wall stones. Installation of a new 6 zone irrigation system. Adding of fill dirt and grading. Laying down new river rock. Laying down new sod. Brilliant Landscaping was referred to me by another landscape contractor who was booked out for the rest of the year. They had high praise for Valentine and his company. I too feel the same way."

"Zach and Josh are professional and experienced. Arrived on time and were transparent about their work. Knowledgeable about underground piping. Confident about their work before backfilling. Work was done over thirty days ago and no leaks! I know because we have a water meter that uploads to a website that displays and identifies leaks."

"Mr. Valasquez gave a quote on installing a complete lawn irrigation system with a rain detector. We hired his company. They did a fantastic job. The job was completed in a timely manner. It is great, not to have to haul the garden hose around the lawn, to water. We highly recommend Valasquez Landscape and give them 5 stars."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Indian Hills, CO

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
