"Les Glover does and did everything. He replaced the bathroom medicine cabinet and sink with cabinet. He installed a new steel front door with all wood trim. Les replaced and repaired the siding on the house and garage. He repaired he soffit around the house. Les also painted the entire house and garage once all wood and siding was replaced or repaired. Les took care of many small details on his own, not needing to be told what to do. If something was not to his liking, he worked on it until it was. Les is very conscientious and is extremely reliable, not to mention that he is a very pleasant person to deal with. Even neighbors commented on his work ethic and abilities. The house looks brand new is now for sale."

"esInitially it started out well but as is typical in this industry, things start to fall off.  He is able to do most phases of construction but prefers trimwork.  The scope of work that we had didn't fit where he wanted to be.  If it was a single job that he was being hired for, I think he would be good.  He did good work but we do a lot of custom stuff and that throws our subs off sometimes.  Super nice guy and I felt that he was trustworthy. <br />"

"It went fine. I got a quote from them but we ended up not going with them. They came out to look at my property and then the quote probably came two weeks after that. Their quote was just too high and I got quotes that were less than that. They were professional. There were a couple of things that I was not too happy with. For example, Darcy Bean sent a plumber out to my house and I was unaware that he was going to be sending a plumber to my house and the plumber contacted me early that morning and said that he needed to come over that very day within the next hour and I told him that that was not going to work for me and that I would have appreciated him calling at least 24 hours in advance. I did not know who the plumber was but he was not the most perceptive to me telling him that he could not come out that day. In general, Darcy was professional but he did state that he was going to come out to give me the quote on a Monday and then he ended up not doing that. I kept having to ask him if he was coming that Monday because he had never set a time and then he finally got back to me that Monday morning and said that he could not come that day and that he would have to come the following day. I would probably not consider getting a quote from them in the future just because I think that most of their quotes would probably be pretty high."

"Gary Hagerman made the estimate for the complete repairs on the day he promptly came out to assess my porch. I liked the price he quoted and liked the explanation he gave regarding what he intended to do. He provided me a written estimate with all tasks detailed and estimated that he could start the project within two weeks. He actually was able to begin earlier than that and called me to ask if that would be OK. He completed the porch inside of two days. The work and cleanup was performed exceptionally well. I intend to use this company again for other projects."

"We hired Borrelli Homes, Inc to be the general contractor on our new dream home. We couldn't be happier with our choice. Our house was completed ahead of schedule in less than 6 months. The scope of the work included land clearing, site prep, and turn-key construction of the house and garage. Phill Borrelli had personal charge over the entire building process. He made great suggestions such as architect choices to get our project moving even before we committed to hiring him for our build. He promptly returned all our calls throughout the entire building process. Phill's workers and subcontractors all did great quality work and were courteous and pleasant to be around. Phill demonstrated a good sense of style and we sought out his opinions on many aspects of the house and finish. Phill builds houses with a high level of quality and style and includes many nice touches that we didn't expect. Any issues that came up were promptly rectified and we were always kept in the loop on the progress of the house. This house is the seventh house that our family has built, but the last house was built in 1989. In all the previous builds, we did the contracting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc. ourselves so we were apprehensive in putting our fate in the hands of a general contractor, but we recognized that our building experience was out of date. We found Borrelli Homes, Inc. on Angie's List and we are so pleased that we did. We can't think of anyway that we could have had a better experience of building our dream house. <br />"

"excellent, when problems arose with the old sink and the weight of the tile on the countertop, they reinforced the cabinet walls for just the cost of materials. Even with the extra repairs they still finished the job ahead of schedule, and on budget. The workers were very friendly and professional, and were quick to answer any questions that I had. I am having them come back in the spring to build a flagstone patio and firepit in my back yard."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Iroquois, IL

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
