"We were very pleased with our overall experience with Floors For Living. We had been shopping around for carpet and laminate flooring and Joshua was informative and helpful. The examples of laminate installed in the store helped us to make a decision along with Joshua’s expertise. The installation went well and Andrew called to follow up and make sure we were happy. I have already referred friends and family to the store! Happy that we found them!"

"Extremely well. The process was stressful, but the Foreman, David M was reassuring and informative during the entire process. The work crew was efficient and careful with the inside and outside of my home. After completion, I had some concerns. Called Allied, they immediately addressed the issues with ease and assurance. I choose Allies Foundation out of 9 other companies. I feel I made the right choice. I would definitely recommend this company. The price was fair."

"Came at appointed time, gave me the estimate and worked quickly to blow in the insulation. They cleaned the garage floor under the opening and took 8 pictures showing the depth of insulation."

"Excellent job! I would highly recommend Jesus Sosa to anyone. He did a great job, was personable and extremely professional. I even signed up for their quarterly spray plan; even though i wasn't planning on it due to Jesus's professionalism and friendliness. I couldn't have had anyone more prepared for the job. He understood his products and was able to help me decide the best plan for treatment around my property. Many thanks!"

"I think they did a very good job. The drain pipe was dug (by day laborers) but installed by Olshan personnel. Constructed well and it works. This was a wet spring. Haven't seen the french drain in action (only during testing and acceptance) and hopefully I never will. They showed up on time both days and provided information and updates on the job all the way through. The crew chief was experienced and knew what he was doing. I sat down with the estimator initially and he presented his approach of my water problem (water in the crawl space). He did a detailed inspection of my crawl space and I selected Olshan based on his evaluation of my problem. I probably could have gotten the work done for a little less but I wanted a guarantee on the work from a company that has been in business for more than a few years (they have been business since 1933)."

"We were so worried about the leveling process but with Leon Foundation we shouldn’t have been. The entire process from start to finish was handled with professional care and quality work! The crew that came to our home showed up with a smile and ready to work and work they did! We can’t say enough how pleased we are with the results we got. I’m sure now that having a lifetime transferable warranty will be honored just as well as the work they did. Thanks Guys!!!"

"I have lived in my house for almost 30 years.  Because of popular concerns about mold, some dark edges I noticed on the louvers of my registers and an Angie's Deal for $149, I made an appointment to get the duct work cleaned.  The guy was on time, explained the process, then went right to work with his vacuum-brush.  I had to move my furniture out of his way, though, to set up his ladder.  The total length of ducts in my house is less than 20 feet, so the sweeping/vacuuming part went pretty fast.  I have 10 registers that were washed, and they certainly look cleaner now.  When he started talking about mold is when I started feeling manipulated.  I didn't know, and I am still not sure what mold growing in my ducts looks like.  The guy showed me several spots he claimed was mold growing in the pink insulation, then told me how their mold killing chemical works.  He claimed he was giving me a "deal" by using 2 vials of poison instead of one vial for an additional $700.  Infusing the poison through my duct work certainly did not entail $700 of work.  He just sat by the cold-air return for 10 minutes letting the poison mist get sucked into the furnace, then blown through the ducts.  I have no idea what 1 or 2 vials of fungicide costs, but I am sure it is nowhere near $700.  If you are thinking about getting ducts cleaned, shop around and ask about the cost of their fungicide in case they find some mold.  The guy kept saying I should be grateful my "problem" doesn't require mold-remediation, which apparently is far more expensive.  Angie's List lead me to believe I was getting a bargain, but now I feel like it was a rip-off.  I can't be sure what I got for $950, but if I notice a problem in the next 6 months, Speed Dry will come back to my house for free.  I guess that might be a "guarantee."  The awful smell lasted for nearly 2 days. <br />"

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Katy, TX

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
