"There were 2 guys at my house and this is not the first time had a centralized humidifier installation done. These guys were so fast at their work that they completed the entire job within an one and half hours. They were thorough at their work / professional / knowledgeable and were super prompt at their times committed. I would highly highly recommend this company for future needs too."

"The service was better than any other service provider that I had come out to my house. The service technician came right ON TIME when he said he was going to. There was no delay. He was very respectful, knowledgeable, and got straight to the point and solved the problem. . He provided a service that I thought was lost due to dealing with other companies. I had a leak and he was able to pinpoint exactly where it was at and gave me the information and the suggestions on how to fix it. He fixed the leak very fast! I would truly recommend this service for anyone else. I know if somebody asked me "do you have an AC guy?" I am definitely going to recommend ATD!!!!!!! Thank you again for all your amazing work!. 10 out of 10"

Customers say: Quick response

"Woke to a chilly home stemming from a heat-pump issue. Posted my repair service need on Angi and within minutes, received a text and phone call from HOFFMAN MECHANICAL, who was able to come out same day and got my Lennox unit up and running again at a fair cost for both parts and the weekend/after hours service call fee. I would use them again without hesitation, and I am happy to highly recommend this company! "

"<p>We found Frank on craigslist and I did a lot of homework before we decided on him. He promptly came out for an initial estimate.</p> <p>He could have not have been any more understanding or nicer. He listen to what we needed and then gave me several different options.</p> <p>No pressure sale B.S. He knows his stuff inside and out. </p> <p>Gave a deposit and a week later the work was done. Everything looks great.</p> <p>Only time will tell about the unit but Frank has made a customer for life.</p> <p>I never write these reviews but felt that the negative review he already had did not warrant his </p> <p>overall services. </p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <p><br /></p> <br />"

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Lancaster, PA

A condenser fan motor is a crucial part of your air conditioner that prevents the compressor from overheating. It pulls heat from your AC unit to cool the refrigerant moving through the condenser coils. This allows your system to blow cool air and keeps everything running smoothly.

The most common causes of AC fan motor failure include loss of lubricant in the system due to overheating and a rusted or leaking run capacitor. Poor lubrication can also cause failure in the belt drive, which may impact the AC fan motor. Weather and electrical components can also affect your AC. For example, a storm could send water into your motor windings and damage the internal components.

Air conditioner fan motors last about 12 years on average, though they can last longer if maintained well. This includes keeping them clean and cooled as needed with annual air conditioner checkups. Routine maintenance is essential to catch AC fan issues early. An HVAC inspection can cost between $70 and $500, while AC cleaning services may range from $100 to $400.

A broken AC fan motor may need replacement because this part usually can’t be repaired. Several things indicate it’s time to replace your AC fan motor, including buzzing noises, a constantly running fan, unusually high energy bills, or an aging system. If you notice these signs, call an HVAC pro for help before the faulty motor starts to strain other parts of the AC system.

There are clear warning signs of a bad AC fan motor, including unusual interruptions in the fan operation. The motor might be malfunctioning if you hear weird noises like grinding or rattling or if the fan continues to spin when the unit is off. These indicators compromise your AC’s cooling performance and increase your energy costs. Addressing these issues immediately by contacting a trusted HVAC professional prevents further damage and safeguards your HVAC's efficiency.

Replacing your AC fan motor takes a professional one to four hours. The technician will start by assessing your system and safely removing the damaged motor. If a new part needs to be ordered, it might take a few days. Once the part is available, your pro will install it properly and make sure your system is running smoothly.
