"Had a 100 year old sideboard with lots of carvings that was falling apart and the finish was shot. The top had a crack across the whole thing and had lots of rings from drinks, etc. The lining of the silverware drawer was shredded and the separating boards were loose. The legs had missing brass covers on the bottom and the legs fell off when the sideboard was lifted. The finish had darkened and was dirty.

Lindstrom's stopped by about 13 months prior to it's being finished and took it back to their shop. Later in the month I visited his shop and he explained all about the sideboard - year it was made, wood, etc. Then he went over what he would have to do. It was a long list. I told him I needed it in a year.

When I got it back, I couldn't believe the difference. You would never guess that there was a crack across the top. He had made two extra brass fittings for the ones that were missing on the back legs. The finish was spectacular, no longer dark and the mahogony just glowed.

He told me he hadn't charged enough for the work but stuck to his agreement.

He forgot to bring the kep to the piece when he delivered it, but I know I will get it back at some point.
The only critique was that the replaced lining of the silver drawer was pieced, not smooth and in felt, not velvet. It looked like they took felt they had and layered it.The craftsman is an artist with unique knowledge of antiques so I give him extra time to do the work. It was worth it."

"The owner, Chris, responded on June 26th examined the furniture, and gave an estimate for cleaning and restoring the faded sofa and love seat. Because there was some "oil stains" on the top of seat backs he gave me the option of having the work performed on-site, or at his workshop. He was honest and advised me that he thought the work could be performed on-site at a lesser cost, but he could not guarantee the stains would not return. I asked him, based on his experience, what he would do. He said he would do the work on-site. In this way, the furniture would not have to be removed for a couple of weeks, and the fee would be less because there would be no transportation involved. He also stated that the oil stains were not severe, and more than likely would not bleed back through the leather. An appointment was set up for July 9th, and employee "Terry" arrived on-time, examined the furniture, and proceeded to clean and remove the oil stains. He then cleaned the rest of the chairs, and created a matching stain which he applied, followed by a finish coat. It should be noted that Terry was very particular in matching the color, so much so that he changed the mixture several times to arrive at the exact match to the original color. He was also very aware of protecting the carpet and other furniture from oversprays. He seems to be a very dedicated and conscientious employee. The result was fantastic, and the furniture looks like new.
Overall, I am totally satisfied, and would highly recommend their service.
"

"
I had a small maple wood table with movable side leaves and 2 chairs that had been painted over several times over the years. I contacted Shultz refinishing and they said they could strip the table and chairs. I chose not to have them stain the newly stripped table and chairs due to the additional cost but had them just strip the paint off.

Two weeks after dropping off the table and chairs I was contacted that the table and chairs were finished and I could pick them up which I did. The time frame was what I expected for this type of job. When I showed up to pickup the table and chairs I was surprised to see that the table was had been taken apart , stripped, but not reassembled.

I wish I would have been told when I brought it in that the table was not going to be reassembled after being stripped. I would not have had it done by Shultz.

I haven't been able to reassemble the entire table correctly because the side leaves are supposed to slide under the table and since I didn't take it apart I don't know how the sliding mechanism is to be installed.

They did a good job of stripping off the paint but now I don't have the table properly reassembled, which given the cost of stripping is why I rated them the way that I did.

They did a good job of finishing to rewire a small older table lamp that I had and also cleaned/polished it nicely. However having the table stripped was the main reason I contacted them.

"

"
Everything went great! Val is a one-man band - he does it all! He takes pride in his work and it shows! He's punctual and does what he says, when he says. If he hits an issue he'll bring it to your attention and give you options - you decide how he should proceed.

If you're just looking to get a job done any old way and cut corners - he's not for you. However, if you want quality work that will last for years and look good in the interim - he's your guy. I'll have him back as soon as I'm ready for my next project.
"

"They did a beautiful job. They were really good. I know there is also a Furniture Medic in Elizabethtown, and my daughter had occasionally used them, and they are just as good. They are very reasonable. They are excellent. I would highly recommend them. When they do something, they tell you exactly what they are doing, and they respond to you; they tell you the time period it will take and what they need to do. They explain everything ahead of time. There is no misunderstanding about what they are going to do. They come in person; they pick up and deliver for you. They make it look like nothing happened with the furniture. It looks like brand new. They also know how to repair it with the style that it is, and they will not do something unless they can actually do it for you. I would definitely use them in the future."
