"After speaking with the broker I was left thinking the vehicle would be delivered in FL in about 3 days or so which is how long it takes me to drive. It took a week during which I was unable to contact the company for updates during the weekend and had to extend my car rental. It was picked up in RI only one day beyond the target date. I paid an extra charge for expedited service but it turns out expedited refers to targeted pick up date; not delivery date which is in the fine print but not in telephone conversations. The driver was very careful with the car and very courteous."

"We were real happy with what he did.  He came in on budget and pretty much on time which in my experience that is unusual.   He did a real good job of walking through everything with us.  We got three proposals, he wasn't the cheapest or most expensive.  He seemed like he had a good mix of putting in what we wanted without doing more than we wanted.  We were very happy with him, we've recommended him to friends of ours too.  We are talking about having him redo our master bath next year."

"After having our basement walls reinforced with unsightly steel beams, we were faced with remodeling our downstairs family room, bathroom, and spare bedroom. We wanted to find an experienced local contractor who could not only complete all phases of the work, but explain options on the best way to do the job without breaking the bank. First we had to remove a drop ceiling, as well as, sheet rock and old paneling on the walls. We decided to go with with sheet rock on our ceiling instead of replacing the old drop ceiling. The new LED canned lights he installed look great and provide great lighting that can be dimmed or made brighter. We put up sheet rock walls replacing outdated paneling. The finished project, ceiling, walls, and trim look great! AP Remodeling, LLC was prompt and professional in everything they did. Best of all they completed the job within our budget which was less than other contractors quoted. I had seen other projects he completed for friends including deck work. When asked if I would recommend him to others, the answer is a resounding YES!! Steve Workman"

"<p> Installation was completed in one day and we are very pleased with the results.  They were true professionals and they cleaned up after themselves, no debris or leftover trash any where on our property.  We have contacted them to repair our roof and re-shingle this Fall.  Would certainly recommend this company to anyone!</p>"

"I was not happy with the company over all. First the service was delayed a couple of times which wasn't that bad but on the day of service I arrived home from work and found the crew but not the owner and there was not one person on site that spoke English. I had to ask my neighbor to translate to them for me. They had most of the roof done but had not installed the roof vents that were ordered. There was some fascia siding removed from a 2nd story dormer and not replaced. I called the owner and he said they had not done this, but that it was already like that. I'm pretty sure as many times as I've been on that roof and called other roofing companies for repair work that this big of a hole would have been noticed. Mr Polley said he would come back out and take care of it but never did. <br />"

"Randy the Handyman responded to my call for help with a clogged sewer line at my home. He was then at another work project elsewhere. He said he would leave for my house when finished at the site where he was. While on the way, he called to notify me of his being in transit. He arrived in the afternoon. He looked at the drain and tried to unplug it with a plunger. After several attempts, it was clear that a plunger would not free up the clogged pipe. <br /> He recommended as a next step to call the city water department for a water main check, which calls he agreed to do. After a bit of time, he was directed to the appropriate section.  The water staff was very agreeable to coming by my house to check my block's main sewer that afternoon. The city staff arrived in about a half hour at my block. Randy communicated with them. The main was checked and proved free of blockage.  <br /> Randy then called a plumber office and told them of the issues and what had been done to that point. It was obvious that a cleaning, or roto rooting, of my house's sewer pipe was in order. The plumber office asked if I wanted a tech to come tomorrow, at regular hourly rates. Or to make an emergency call late the same afternoon as this call (i.e., today), but at overtime rates. I agreed to the overtime arrangement for today. (Note: the plumber was able to clear the sewer line later the same day.) <br /> As part of Randy's thoroughness, he suggested that I make another appointment with the plumber for a few days later. He recommended that the techs run a "cam." That refers to a thin camera line being extended into the sewer pipe. Then the plumber could see if house settling, or tree roots, or something else had caused the line to be partially blocked. And if a problem was found, I should consider getting it fixed. (For info, I had not had a blocked sewer line for 20 years. Also for info, the house at present is nearly 40 years old.) I agreed to call the plumber in a few days.  <br /> At that point, Randy had spent two and a half hours: either interacting with the city staff or locating a plumber. At that point, and with the plumber on the way, I asked if there was anything more that he should do. He said no. Then I asked him about his bill. He told me he had not actually done the work. So he left the bill up to me. I asked him his regular rate. I decided to pay him for the full time he was there. I thanked him for his advice and support. Then he left.  <br /> Randy the Handyman is a good man. And he is very knowledgeable of handyman skills in most of the home fixup areas. I would highly recommend him to clients of Angies List <br />"

FAQs for thermostat installation and replacement projects in Lawrence, KS

Smart thermostats may be worth it for many homeowners. They come with various features, including voice control and smartphone apps. Vacation mode can help lower energy usage when you’re out of town for an extended period. Alert warnings let you know about major spikes or drops in temperature. Smartphone apps can track energy usage, and smart thermostats can learn your routine over time to adjust your temperature and reduce wasted energy consumption automatically.

You typically do not need more than one smart thermostat. While it’s common to see multiple mechanical thermostats throughout a large home, multiple smart thermostats may try to override each other. This can lead to problems with the HVAC system. Ensure the unit you buy has the option for dual- or multi-zoned systems to avoid compatibility issues.

Installing a programmable or smart thermostat may save you $180 per year in utility costs. A big part of this comes from a smart thermostat’s ability to learn and adapt to your regular routines. With smartphone apps or web-based interfaces, you also have the option to control your thermostat when you’re not home.
