Small jobs welcome

"Aaron is courteous, professional, and patient in addressing my many questions. Most importantly, he is highly knowledgeable and skilled in refinishing and furniture repair. He took the time to clearly explain the step-by-step process, assess the damage, identify areas requiring special attention, and provide guidance on proper care and maintenance after the refinishing was completed. He performed the work on-site, offering a low- to no-odor solution, and completed the project efficiently and in a well-organized manner. I would gladly hire Artisans Restorations again for my next project!"

"<p>Woodchuck Woodworking of Atlanta produces genuinely custom furniture. If you can design it, they can build it; and if you can "almost" design it, they will help you complete the design. And once the design is finished, it is, so to speak, never finished, since they evaluate pieces as they build them to ensure the design genuinely is what you want, genuinely will function as everyone hopes, and does not include features that compromise or otherwise detract from the original plan. Example: the width of one bookcase easily accommodated the two framed-glass doors with its four legs, the other bookcase -- as they began to see -- would not, hence added two extra legs (front and back) in the middle of the bookcase. Perfect solution, and not something I had considered. The corner cabinet for the plaster bust was designed to perfectly accommodate the height of the bust, but Floyd stepped back and considered that several more inches of headroom inside the cabinet would let the top of the bust and thus the bust as a whole "breathe" better. Again: Perfect solution, and not something I had considered.</p> <p>But it's an imperfect world. Not a problem. Whenever we had questions or suggestions during the construction, they always listened and considered them just as carefully as they had the original design. After pieces were completed, if something was not what we expected, they made special trips over to check and correct whatever it was or to offer suggestions of their own. Even after they had moved on to the next piece, if an earlier piece needed a tweak (bookcase door not closely perfectly flush), they would come out and tweak it. That is, Woodchuck Woodworking makes sure the piece is what you wanted and is more than reasonable it their willingness to work with you as things progress. They take pride in their work; it's obviously as important to them that you get the beautiful piece you imagined as it is to you.</p> <p>That said, be careful with your design, since they genuinely will produce the piece you agree on. If they do detailed drawings to work from, examine them carefully, every dimension, every feature, and ask questions if you have any; they will listen and respond and, I might add, never complain. They are detail-oriented, and their finished products reflect it. So make sure you understand the details as well. You will be glad you did, and happy with the furniture. It truly is custom furniture.<br></p> <p>To that end, namely, to ensure everything turns out well, they will send you pictures as the work progresses.</p> <p>We could not be happier with the furniture (and the workbench as well). It's gorgeous, and some of the pieces frankly came out better and more handsome than we had anticipated.</p> <p>Be patient. Woodchuck Woodworking is a small operation offering extremely personalized attention. They try to stay on schedule while being subject to the same unforeseen circumstances as the rest of us. When they turn a piece around immediately, it's great; when a piece takes a bit longer, it's also great. It's worth the wait.</p> <p>We obviously used them for several pieces (see above) as return customers, and would continue to do so. In fact, we have already recommended them to friends and to the contractor who built our custom home.</p>"

"I inherited my great grandmother's dining room table and it had gotten broken in a move a couple of decades back.  I finally decided it was time to fix it and put it in use.   William's Furniture Repair sent me an initial basic quote over email (via sending photos of my dining set).  At that time, I agreed to move forward.  They picked up the dining table set and took the time to explain a little about the set to me as well as provide more specific options for its repair/refinish.   I provided a down-payment on the project and then the table was moved to their workshop.  Later, I was called to the workshop to choose the color of the stain as well as drop off the material for the seat covers.  A short time after this, the table was dropped back off to my house. <br /> The table turned out beautifully.  It was amazing to have the table and chair not only be functional again, but to look amazing.  They did an excellent job so I also got a quote for my breakfast table.  This project will move forward within the year.   <br /> <br />"

"<p>This provider exceeded my expectations! My cabinets look new. They are absolutely beautiful. They are highly professional and extremely detailed oriented. They make sure everything where they work in your home is clean and protected. They stripped and stained my oak kitchen cabinets making them look like new. The reface companies will try and convince you this isn't possible. But it is with a highly professional company like Atlanta Kitchen Refinishers. If you have wood cabinets they can be restored and made to look like new so they can last another 20 years or beyond.</p> <p>They show up on time and get to work on time. They stay on schedule and on budget. They respect your home by protecting it and your possessions so their work doesn't affect your surroundings. You can trust these guys mean what they say. They are highly responsive when you call and are available to answer questions onsite. I would highly recommend them and I plan to use them again when I renovate my master bathroom.<br /> <br /></p> <br />"

FAQs for furniture refinish projects in Lawrenceville, GA

A complete table refinishing project requires between four and eight days from start to finish. The actual hands-on work takes between two and 10 hours, with the remaining time dedicated to drying periods between applications. The stripping and sanding phases demand the most active labor, while applying finishes requires patience as each layer dries completely before proceeding.

Several elements influence dining table refinishing costs, with size being the primary factor. Larger tables or those with extensions require more materials and labor time. The wood type matters significantly—hardwoods may need specialized treatment compared to softer woods. The table's current condition also impacts pricing, as damaged surfaces need repairs before refinishing can begin.

Refinishing often proves more economical than purchasing a comparable quality replacement. Professional table refinishing costs between $150 and $400 on average, while preserving the original craftsmanship and character of your piece.

This approach makes particular sense for well-constructed wood furniture that would be expensive to replace with similar quality. For sentimental pieces or antiques, refinishing also maintains their history and personal value.

Professional furniture refinishers charge between $40 and $100 per hour for their services. This rate varies based on geographic location, the refinisher's experience level, and the complexity of the project. Some professionals offer project-based pricing rather than hourly rates, especially for standard-sized pieces like coffee tables or end tables. When requesting quotes, ask whether the estimate includes materials or represents labor costs only.

For tables with minor wear, you can sometimes refresh the appearance without complete stripping and sanding. Using gel stains and wipe-on finishes can address surface issues while preserving the existing finish underneath. This approach works best for tables with light cosmetic damage rather than those with deep scratches or damaged finishes. However, proper stripping and sanding remain necessary for comprehensive restoration or significant color changes for professional-quality results.
