"Aaron got pretty sick at the beginning of the year and at the time we thought we had a strict deadline to get the work done which my nephew later helped us work through.  Due to some misunderstandings, email communication was left open-ended and therefore we ended up hiring someone else which I really did not want to do because I was so impressed with his work ethic, his knowledge, and with him and his wife as people.   <br /> Aaron cared enough to follow up with me - while his prices are great, for me communication is primary.  I can see that he *really* cares about his customers which is unusual in today's world.  He's a one-man show, so people will probably have to wait to get into his schedule, however, I am so impressed with him that next time we need work done (and we will need it done, for sure), I will be calling him first.  Good contractors are hard to find, and after just moving to this area, we're building our list of friendly, quality people that feel more like friends than contractors - people I know I can call if I have a question or who have the ethics to make it right if something goes wrong (and it rarely does).  I feel that Aaron definitely falls into this category quality people. <br /> While I scored him a 'B' on professionalism and responsiveness due to the misunderstanding, I'm rating him an 'A' overall because of my initial impression and his great follow-up, and quite frankly due to the fact that I hope to hire him for my next job! <br />"

"Dale, and his staff at Aquatic Rock Formations, is a true professional at installing, repairing, and updating water features. Dale is a problem solver, who is creative and dedicated to doing the job correctly the first time. His extensive experience led him to discover the specific issue with the auto fill on my waterfall on his first visit just three days after contacting him. He immediately telephoned me about the repair, estimated cost, and scheduled the time just a couple of weeks in the future. When an unrelated, unexpected issue was recognized during the repair, he made time in his schedule to return the following day to finish. Then he returned back within two days of the completion to make sure that it operated as expected. It was comforting to be able to reach him when questions arose. The price was both similar to the estimate and fair. I had worked with two other companies regarding the same problem with the auto fill and both were unable to diagnose nor remediate the issue over a four-month time period. I was so impressed by Dale that a number of weeks later, I contacted him about installing lights on the falls. They look fabulous! I plan on using only him for my future projects and highly recommend him for planning, building, repairing, or updating water features."

"We called Chad Sparks (owner, C & L Outdoor Design and Landscape) to give us a bid on the implementation/work of a design plan we had previously purchased from another landscape designer. He reviewed our plan, met with us and walked thru the property and talked through our vision and goals. Afterwards he was able to give us some verbal estimates so we had some idea as to how we wanted to proceed. We weren't sure if we wanted to tackle the whole project all at once or do it in phases. We had a very large wooded and weedy side yard that was just a mess so we knew that we wanted to pursue getting the buckthorn and weeds removed and treated right away. So, Chad came out to walk through the yard again and make sure he knew exactly what we wanted and how we wanted to proceed. During this second meeting and walk-thru, Chad gave us another great idea for our yard that wasn't part of the initial design but in truth, it's what we really wanted from the beginning - more yard. The project became much larger in the end, but it truly is the vision we had when we bought the house. We love the wooded lot but there was no usable green space. Now with the help of the designer and C & L, we have a purposeful, usable yard. The changes in the front and side yard transformed the entry into our cul-de-sac too. We had what I called, a "forest" where you couldn't really see our house as you approached the circle, now we have a welcome and and beautiful corner entry. Our backyard was very wooded but was mostly ungraded, and full of buckthorn too. We followed the initial design plan for the most part in the back, putting in a walking path and a "bags" court. I was thoroughly impressed with the installation process Chad used for this. He created a template to hold the gravel path in place and it really makes it look sharp and clean. Chad also recommended leveling out our bonfire pit area and adding a small semi circle of boulders to mirror what we already had  off of our back deck. I'm so glad he had this vision because it really looks nice and it gave us a level spot for chairs when sitting around the fire. It required taking out a decent sized tree that was in the way but by taking it out, it provided a little more sunlight into the back.  <br /> I cannot stress enough how thrilled we are with our newly remodeled yard. We still have lots of trees but we have beautiful green space too. We have gotten so many compliments from our neighbors and strangers that walk by on a regular basis. I would definitely recommend C & L Outdoor Design and Landscape to others. Chad is truly an honest, hard working, <strong>good</strong> guy.  <br /> <br />"

"Beautiful! Groundworks installed a retaining wall for a steep side of our driveway in 2009. This winter, the other side of our driveway started eroding and we called Groundworks. This week they were able to build a shorter, lower wall, matching the 7 year old wall. Then they finished off the entry with a stone-step hosta bed bringing all together with matching rocks and style. Their design work, creativity in suggesting solutions, workmanship and final clean up are excellent."

"LOVE these!!!  When I was looking at my options and planning my project and budget, they came out (traveled 80+ miles) just to help me understand the product and what was possible and I was amazed at just how customized they could be.     They asked about how I use the space and the feeling/look that I was trying to achieve and provided me with a number of options.  When I decided to go with decorative concrete, they came back and made an exact template of the cabinets I was covering so that the final tops would fit exactly.  They were always available for questions by phone and when I wasn't able to reach them they were very prompt in returning my calls,    We decided on integral sinks for the bathroom so the cost of separate sinks was eliminated.  Because they had other projects in process, I had to wait until I was in their queue and it turned out to be about six weeks before they could start.  They completed them in two weeks and the install was flawless.  It was well worth the wait and we are now talking about plans for an outdoor kitchen.  I would highly recommend them. <br /> <br /> For anyone considering their counter top options, I would encourage you to look at all of the costs of the other options - edge profile, cutouts, sink costs, etc.  It was my experience that all of those things add up and in the end, the decorative concrete is very competitive and like nothing else you see on the market."
