"We recently had a new shower installed by West Shore Home. They tore out a shower and a bathtub and replaced it with a much larger shower and a small space that we intend to use as linen closet. I would like to talk a little bit about our installer crew. Jake N. was the acting on site Foreman, Brynn, Matt, and John worked with him to complete the installation. I cannot praise them enough. They were so customer focused and dedicated to making sure that we got the shower that we had requested. They treated our home with such respect, making sure that it was clean. When you look at the videos on their website about how the job is done step by step, stage by stage making sure that everything is done correctly. The job took a little longer than expected because of a miscommunication with the salesperson for the project. When we noted the issue it was so pleasing to see how they reacted immediately. They brought a supervisor out to review the work and he made a couple of really great decisions. He stated to us don't worry we will make it right. And that is exactly what they did. Everything was done to our expectations and the resulting shower is of such high quality and the craftsmanship so solid I am sure that this shower will be a very very important selling point when we resell this house. The value of the shower the thing installed is well in keeping with the price of the work. It is a professional job and it has enhanced the value of our home. I wish we could rate this higher but I stand by everything that I've said. This is a wonderful and reliable company. They communicate well in advance of the work and follow up once the work is complete. Well done and thank you. It isn't very often that you see a company that is so willing to stand by their pledge of customer satisfaction. All I can say is they have truly proven their honesty and commitment to making sure that a customer receives exactly what they ordered."

"We used these guys for our kitchen remodel 2 years ago and liked their work and them so well that we hired them to remodel our master bath. The removed the tub (we're geriatric) and installed a new shower with bench, put in new tile floor and reworked the electrical. Although my husband is impatient (these guys are busy and some days only one would be working at our house), they did a beautiful job. No corners were cut - they do beautiful work! Thanks to Jim, Lori, Sarah, Nick, Sergio, Poli, Ismael, Chino and any others I have left out. What a nice group!"

"I did a lot of research on plumbers and out of the half dozen plumbing companies with the best overall ratings TX Quality Plumbing not only the highest rating, but they were the least expensive as well.  They showed up on time and immediately got to work.  It took them about 5 hours to complete the job.  The guys were very professional and friendly.  After they inspected everything the head plumber told me that he was concerned about my pipes (galvanized and over 40 years old) and that they will eventually need to be replaced.  He was especially concerned with the piping that comes out of the water heater and if nothing else I should replace those for now.  I agreed and they came back out the next day and replaced the pipes.  So for replacing my 50 gal water heater, replacing two pipe, several feet each, running a new drain line from the attic to the outside cost me $1,600.  Even with the extra unexpected cost they still beat everyone else's price for just the water heater replacement.  They also gave me a ballpark estimation on how much it would cost me to replace all my pipes based on 3 1/2 bath house and the price they quoted me was so much less then what I was expecting based on other peoples horror stories.  I will be using them for that big job as well!!

"William G happened to text me if I still needed a quote? He asked at the right time, because first option never responded. Turning our house over to someone to fix up, was a little stressful at beginning. But that was all put to rest right away. William came by that very day, within 15 minutes gave me a quote along with helpful suggestions on remodeling my bathroom. This was a Friday and work began the following Monday. William was hands on (literally). Existing bathtub and shower were removed, window made smaller to give more space for new shower. Wall and floor tile removed. I opted for gray tone porcelain tile with a tile shower base. Did not want a pre-fab base. Floor tile resembles planking. New vanity counter and sinks installed. The big pleaser for my husband, is the widening of the bathroom doorway and the tile seat in the shower. lol. My husband and I are both pleased with the outcome of the bathroom. Especially me. Very pleased with the working relationship we had with William. I certainly recommend Home Sweet Home Improvements home remodeling. If anymore remodeling needs to be done on my home (I'm sure it will), I have William on speed dial. The attached photo, shows shower is waiting for glass."

"I called maybe 20 providers who found reasons not to do it, until Mr. Halfon asked to send him a picture of the misplaced tiles. We agree fast on the phone and one of his men came to my house after only 2 days to do the work. He was efficient and very hard working. He even agree to go and buy grout to perfectly match the original colour. My floor looks perfect. In general, dealing with this company was very easy, faster than I expected and reasonable priced."

"Outstanding job. Quick and efficient. Came to give me an estimate the next day and two days later, my walk-in shower was installed. I had to replace a tub/shower combination due to cracks on the flooring and leaking water and I chose to replace it with a walk in shower. It is really nice and I love it."

"Everyone I came in contact with at Tell Projects was highly professional, courteous, and patiently answered all my questions during our recent shower remodel. The work was completed on time, exactly as promised, and exactly at the cost quoted. The crew that came to my home were all Tell Projects employees, not outside contractors; and the same crew of plumbers, painters, tile installers and glass installers worked the entire project from start to finish. The finished work is beautiful and we couldn't be happier. I look forward to working with them on my next project."

FAQs for shower installation and replacement projects in League City, TX

Replacing your tub with a shower can modernize your bathroom and improve accessibility, often providing a high return on investment. However, if it's the only bathtub in your home, removing it may decrease resale value, as many buyers look for at least one bathtub. Consider your long-term plans and consult a real estate professional if resale value is a concern.

While showers cost slightly more to install than tubs, the overall expense depends on various factors such as materials, size, and features. A tub installation costs $2,400 to $8,800 on average, whereas showers average $2,000 to $9,400. Custom designs, luxury fixtures, or extensive plumbing work can increase costs for both options. It's important to assess your specific needs and budget when deciding between installing a shower or a tub.

Converting a tub to a shower generally takes between one and three days. The timeline depends on the complexity of the project, materials chosen, and whether plumbing modifications are necessary. Installing a standard prefabricated shower can be completed quickly, while custom tile work or extensive plumbing changes may extend the project's duration. Planning accordingly can help minimize disruptions during the conversion.

Converting a tub to a shower offers several benefits, including saving space and making your bathroom feel more open and modern. Showers improve accessibility, especially for those with mobility challenges, by eliminating the need to step over a high tub wall. Additionally, updating to a stylish shower can enhance your bathroom's aesthetic appeal and may increase your home's resale value if another tub is available elsewhere in the house.

Choosing between a shower stall and a custom shower depends on your budget and preferences. Prefabricated stalls are less expensive and faster to install but offer limited styles. Custom showers allow personalization of size, materials, and features but cost more and require professional installation. Evaluate your needs and budget to select the best option for your space.

If you’re converting a tub to a shower, you may want to consider remodeling your whole bathroom. The ROI on bathroom remodels is high (over 70%), so you can enjoy an upgraded bathroom while you live in your home and get your money back if you decide to sell later. The average cost to remodel a bathroom is around $6,600 to $16,600, so factor in this price range when you’re budgeting for your project.

Converting a tub to a shower alone isn't easy to DIY, so look for a bathroom remodeler near you if you decide to take on a larger bathroom remodel to ensure it's done correctly.
