"We worked with Russell and his Archadeck team to put a covered extension onto our existing deck. We can’t recommend them enough. From the design phase and through all of the building, everything was clearly communicated so we knew exactly what to expect. "<p>When we decided to build an outdoor fireplace off of our patio I wanted to make sure the job was done right.  I found Artisan Masonry on Angie's List.  I contacted Pat Drye and we talked.  I told him what I had in mind and even texted a picture to him of a fireplace I had seen that I liked.  Just from the picture he could tell me several things that should have been done different. He came out to the house and we talked some more.  We listened to Pat and his ideas too.  We actually moved the location of the fireplace and I am so glad we listened to him.  It is in the perfect spot.  After I was given approval from our neighborhood association, I contacted Pat Drye to let him know we were ready to start.  Due to the large amount of spring rainfall, Pat said he would be able to start as soon as he finished up a few jobs that were held up by the rain.  When hiring companies for outside jobs we all know the weather can play a big part in when jobs are started and finished.  It wasn't very long and Pat called to say he was ready to start.  It took about 5 days total. Pat Drye is not only a mason but also an artist. My fireplace is not only substantially built but it is also beautiful.  Pat and his crew(Paul, Steven and Joseph) are hard working, skilled and very knowledgeable. "This was our first time attempting a major home construction project. This project was also the reason I became an Angie's List member to begin with. Mr. Crawford responded promptly to give us an estimate for the work we wanted done. We felt comfortable with Mark right away. As the job progressed we began to regard Mark as not just a good contractor but a good person as well. He was honest with us about the work that needed to be done and suggested a few additional items we didn't think about; to add to the overall contemporary look we wanted. Even our dogs liked him! They greeted him every morning like he was family. He suggested a slight floor plan change to open up the kitchen and relocate the dishwasher. It was a great idea but left us with gaps in the floor tile. We like our floor tile but it is no longer available. Together with a few tiles I had saved and one he removed from our floor, he created an area in the center of the kitchen to install a tile mosaic. He created a great mosaic with the materials we purchased. We also wanted to remove the tray ceiling in the dining area because it seemed to make the area off center with the dining table placed in the bay window area where we preferred. After discussing it with Mark we decided it was the chandelier that was making the area off balance. By installing matching LED disk lights in the kitchen and dining area, it pulled the two areas together and made the whole design more contemporary. This saved us time and money over the additional drywall work required to change the ceiling. We were a little nervous at the beginning of this project but he was reassuring and confident all the way through.
