"They do their upholstery in their home. They did a fine job with two chairs I brought them. Only, they flip-flop the fabric. They put the fabric on opposite chairs that I had adjusted. The fabric I have chosen for the small chair was put on the larger chair. It turned out okay. In fact, I kind of liked the switch but not totally. It was not bad enough that I was going take it back and have them do it again. It was very inexpensive. For the two chairs, it was under $300. As far as I am concerned, it was a good deal. I had upholstery done before that has been more expensive. It may not have been top-notch, but it was pretty good. They did it very quickly. I would consider using them again. I would just be specific with what I wanted. We had to carry the chair down a little driveway and into their basement. The environment was okay, but it did not bother me that much as long as the work is good. I might locate another place, but I am not looking anything re-covered any time soon."

"Project manager was thorough, informative, and on-top of all subcontractors used.   All change orders were fairly and economically negotiated. PM carefully listened to my wife's comments and followed through accordingly. He worked very well with the electrical and drywall contractors I contracted with separately. (I used these excellent subs previously on other projects at our Landsdowne property.) <br /> A/R was recommended by our architect and met all of the architect's specifications providing a results that exceeded expectations. All work was "on time" and to original quote plus fairly negotiated and economical minor change orders. <br /> Contract was simple and included all specifications understood at the time of signing.  There were NO SURPRISES. <br /> Three contractors bid the project. "From the beginning, we knew we were on the right track with J&R.  Their designer, Seth, took a lot of time with us in preparing the estimate, took pictures and measurements and our initial drawings and came back with a much better design than we originally had that allowed us more room and what has turned out to be a more aesthetically pleasing area.  The estimate, while higher than the others we received, was itemized and incredibly detailed which leant a great deal of confidence to our decision to use J&R.  They didn't just throw something together to figure out later - they knew what needed to be done, what it would cost and put it in writing. <br />      Due to our work schedules, one thing we needed was a schedule laid out for us at the beginning, which we got.  What we hadn't anticipated was our local building inspector throwing a huge stick into the spokes of our project's wheels which required concrete work that pushed everything back.  Even with that headache, Jimmy McKinney was able to coordinate the concrete work and keep everything else close to the original schedule.  Via text messages, we seldom if ever had to wonder what was going on at any given time.  Traversing that aspect of our job was huge and J&R did it with very little problem. <br />      Overall, from the design to assisting us with paint and trim choices, to working on a custom, built-in desk in the studio room, choosing windows, coordinating drywallers, painters, plumbers, counter installation and a variety of other things to the final product, we couldn't be happier.  If you have a project you're considering, at the very least you owe it to yourself to get an estimate from J&R - our project had the final details taken care of today and, in all honesty, it is better than we had hoped and we're incredibly happy with our new rooms and our kitchen.  Hats off to Jimmy, Seth and the entire team of specialists at J&R Construction. <br />"

Gordon and JR did an excellent job on the floors, Lumbermans crew of Charles and Ken made the countertop install look great. Tile crew was excellent with the new shower and backsplash. Very punctual and wonderful cleaning when done each day."

"It went very well; they were punctual, communicated well, and did a great job in a timely manner. The only reason for the B in professionalism was for an occasion when the owner was not there and a younger guy was playing the music too loudly and had to be asked to turn it down. Not a big deal at all, but as a customer would prefer not to have to ask a worker to turn down the music in my home. Their drywall finishing guy is amazing and they are reasonably priced."
