"We had previously used Art Woodstone 10 years earlier when we asked them to build extensive bookcases and cabinets when we finished our basement. When it came time this year to redo our main floor we turned to Tea and George again to do a slightly smaller but unique project to build two wall bookcases that would connect to a fireplace mantle and then two moveable wooden dog crates to fill in the space below the bookcases and to either side of the hearth. From a rough sketch of what the finished concept would look like, they were able to produce a beautiful custom set. It matched our vision exactly. They worked with our primary contractor's lead carpenter to ensure the piece would have good anchoring in the studs behind the drywall. I cannot speak highly enough of their craftsmanship. The bookcase and mantlepiece are beautiful pieces of wood and spectacular to look at. The dog crates are beyond exceptional. The careful work George did to ensure tight joins at the corners and the wooden slats was stunning. Our lead carpenter from the renovation was deeply impressed by the work. As an add on to this effort, they also restored a large wooden partner's desk that has been in our family for over 50 years. Over that time the desk had it's finish worn away in spots, was sunbleached in others, and had corners gnawed on by puppies in the day. They took that shabby mess of a desk and restored to a shine and gleam that is something to behold. AWS is worth every penny that you will pay for their work. True artisans with an eye for detail and a feel for design. Would recommend them EVERY time."

"Quality work and great customer service. Easy to follow instructions for the template and pads fit perfectly. Table pads look great! Ordered extra items and love them too. All arrived quickly and were good quality; however, had some damage caused by the shipping company. Contacted Mark Ivan in customer service who immediately shipped an entire new set. Those pads were also slightly damaged. Again Mark shipped a third set. I was astonished and delighted with customer service and quality of the product. It's hard to find a company with a quality product and fantastic customer service!! Definitely will use Berger Table Pads again."

"Mr. Chamoun's work was a piece of art. The quality and craftsmanship and the attention to detail are second to none. If you want the best, you have to pay a little more, but it was well worth it because the final product was something that will impress for years, decades probably. If you look at Mr. Chamoun's portfolio, you can see that even 40 years ago the custom furniture that he made for Banks (I believe Riggs was one of his clients back then) was gorgeous and one-of-a-kind. Mr. Chamoun handles any job, even the small ones. You choose the materials, and he will not mark them up. He is fair, honest, a pleasure to work with, and one of the most skilled craftsmen I have ever met. If he's in your area, I highly recommend him."

"I have 6 old chairs that I love because they swivel and rock. We have them in the breakfast room. Over time the mechanisms stopped working (these are perhaps close to 20 years old). All new chairs seem to be straight legged. I could have ordered new chairs from this store (they do custom new work, too) but my bucket seats were fine. It took about 2 and a half months for the new bases to come in, but they have custom made wooden legs.
A few months later I noticed that three of the castors were broken and one was the wrong size. I only use 4 of the chairs on a regular basis, and three of the damaged ones just happened to be on the chairs I stored. I called the store and emailed photos of the castors. With no questions asked, they ordered the new castors AND came to my home to replace them. This is just excellent customer service, especially as I had had the chairs back for months. Nice.

"Closet Pioneers is a one stop shop for your closet installation or laundry room renovation. Ayca did a remarkable job designing the laundry room renovation project especially with our space constraints. She listened to the customer and made design changes quickly to keep the flow. Once designed the shelving and cabinets were customized in their facility. Next came the expert installer Romani who did a fabulous job installing and adjusting cabinets and shelving to meet some of our last minute changes. Finally, their plumber installed the quality faucet selected by Ayca. Overall the project was finished on time, within budget with excellent quality and workmanship."

"Based on a ton of outstanding remarks on Angie's List, I initially called Tony's Touch to get most of the interior to our house painted. While he was reviewing the house to provide an estimate Anthony (the owner of Tony's Touch) noticed that our oak railings were in fairly poor shape and suggested individually sanding all of the railings and then using a tinted polyurethane to give it some glare and a longer life. During out conversation Tony indicated that his company also does all types of flooring. Since we have been dreaming of hardwood floors on the main level of our house for years, I thought it would be worthwhile to get a quote for this work as well. So, after reviewing five bids to do the work, we selected Tony's Touch to do all three jobs.
Anthony is a very enterprising young man and has put together an outstanding business. He staff a large staff of craftsmen. Anthony is quite knowledgeable on all aspects of this work. Finally, Anthony does a great job of negotiating prices on all materials and passes all of the savings to the customer. For instance, on the floor installation project he was able to find significant savings for myself and other clients by pooling together the same wood in a single order to obtain a very good price. Little things like that save clients significant money.
The most important to know about Anthony is that he wants to ensure all of his jobs get done at the highest quality level possible. He communicates with the clients extremely well. If there is a problem he typically has a recommend solution or two.
I am going to break my reviews up into three different sections: painting, refinishing the rails, and flooring. Each aspect had a separate purpose and were done at different times throughout the renovation process.
Painting
We received five estimates from painters with strong ratings on Angie's List and found that one was ultra high, two were in the middle and two were in the low end. Anthony provided the next to lowest quote, and although he was not the lowest, after meeting with him I felt like he was going to provide excellent work, and he was interested in working with me to ensure I was prepared to make all of the right decisions in a timely manner so that I would be happy with the final project. We had not yet determined all of the house colors, so he provided an excellent designer (from Will's Decorating) to meet us at the house and provide us with assistance on the color selection.
Once all of the colors were selected Anthony was very quick to select dates for the painting work that revolved around our schedule and our desire to be there whenever work was being done.
His crew was extremely polite and I thought they were quite trustworthy and excellent at their craft. They were experienced professionals. I have overseen several renovation activities over the last 30 years and I fully believe that his crews were the hardest working, most time efficient, and effective workers I have ever seen. They were always on task and worked as hard as possible. Just because they were hardworking and moved fairly quickly, there was no skimping on quality. Anthony is quite committed to quality and prefers to lengthen the schedule by a day of so if the job needs more time to maintain his high quality standard.
Tony was very flexible when it came time to select which paint brand and line were to be used in the house. We selected Benjamin Moore's Aura line, which is very expensive, but not as bad after he was able to get a contractor discount on it.
Back to the job: The crew started with prepping all of the paint surfaces and protecting all of the materials in the vicinity of where they were working. Prepping included extensive sanding all of the walls to ensure the pores were open so that the paint could better adhere to the surface. They also waited the prescribed amount of time between the first and second coat of the paint. Many painters put a second coat right over first coat without allowing the first coat to dry, and then takes credit for applying two codes of paint. Anthony's crew, however, allowed for the paint to dry by following the manufacturer's recommendation before attempting to put on a second coat.
The overall results were absolutely fantastic. As with any large painting project, there was a small punch list of tiny problems. I didn't even have to to go over the concerns with them--they saw the list on yhe table, as well stickies we applied to the walls to show where there was an issue, and they immediately made all of the corrections with no questions asked.
If you are thinking about hiring them for painting services I strongly recommend them. Some of the little things, like Tony bringing in an interior designer/paint consultant, at no charge, helped to guarantee we would be happy with the final results.
Finally, Anthony was a dream to work with on this aspect of the job. All promised dates were hit. He constantly checked in to make sure we were still happy with everything throughout the process. He periodically popped in to oversee his crew and to check out the work. And, he takes great effort to make sure we are happy with everything on an almost daily basis.
Resurfacing railings on the main floor and second floor
We have oak rails along the steps, between the kitchen and the FR, and the 2nd floor halls overlooking the FR and Foyer. These railings were quite faded and had absolutely no sheen.
I have had contractors in the past recommend just throwing a coat of polyurethane on top of the existing wood to bring the wood back to life. However.
that approach is a lazy approach to do the work and will result is a poor quality result. Anthony was the only contractor who proposed to do the work correctly--he would only do the job if they sanded, by hand, all of the railing before each coat in order to open up the pores in the wood so that stain and polyurethane would properly soak in the wood. He also suggested using a polyurethanes that was tinted with the stain color. He recommend two coats, and in between coats the railings were lightly sanded again, to ensure the product would properly adhere to the wood. The final results were outstanding.

"It is a waste of money. The great majority of people are not going to find any value out of the service. If you need design consultation, you need a full service consultation. If you already have knowledge and experience, and you just need to get a few ideas, then you don't need to pay for that. You can just get a magazine or a book since you already have the knowledge of basic designs in your head or a little bit of experience. To have someone call you and give you information over the phone, you are not getting the personal service that you need. You may as well take the money $49 and apply it to something else like getting someone else to come out and give you the service that you need. Because, you are not getting much, you are not getting anything at all. They are going to have you do the work. After talking to them and I was talking to other home designers, I found out that that was a waste of time and waste of money. I gave them a C because they didn't fail at what they do but they don't offer any value for what they do. There's not much value to it. The cost was fair. They didn't do a terrible job and the cost isn't terrible, it was only $49. It just has a very low value. For responsiveness I gave them a B because they will answer your phone and answer your emails."

"We could not be happier with the professionalism and quality of work performed. Raul Martinez, the owner of RGE group LLC, did our projects and he is reliable, extremely competent, dependable, knowledgeable, and personable. He is very sensitive to getting input from the homeowner and does an exceptional job explaining things in such a way that the homeowner can understand the various options. In sum, Raul is a delight and he does exceptionally fine work.
He completed two projects for us and we are 1000% satisfied. The first project was refinishing all of the fronts of the kitchen cabinets doors and drawers (40 plus total). The cabinets are 16 years old and had become stained and scratched.
The cabinets had been handcrafted by the Amish with a white-wash effect. Raul did a marvelous job and they look just like new. He was even able to fix a significant crack in a side panel. The second project was retiling the floor in our half bath. He removed the old tile and then ensured that the underflooring wood was screwed securely to prevent future squeaks. Again, he selected some
great tiles for us to use and because we have a pedestal sink, he had to remove the sink and the toilet. He also carefully matched the tile height with the wooden floor in the living room, something that had not been done before, which gives the project a much nicer look rather than having a threshold board between the tile and the wood floor. He also painted the bathroom walls, ceiling,
baseboard and crown molding. We decided we should upgrade the fixtures so he had to use his electrical skills to remove the wall light. Because he knows how to do everything (including electrical work, plumping, carpentry, tiling and painting) he can get the job done efficiently without having to wait for various specialists. This was especially important for our bathroom upgrade.
Throughout the project, he kept us updated and answered our numerous questions. Each day he cleaned up and when the projects were completely finished, everything looked marvelous. He is an all-around professional. We will absolutely call Raul to do any future work in our home.
