"Meredith with the Sycamore Foundation went above and beyond the call of duty. He provided paperwork, pictures and contacts throughout the restoration process. When an issue or topic came up, Meredith immediately set about its resolution. The choices for the topic does not cover all the services he and his company provided. He not only helped with the insurance claims, identifying the initial problem, water and other hidden problems that were able to be alleviated prior to them becoming a major issue but he worked with me throughout the entire project completion in a very professional, courteous manner. This was during a time when contractors were in short supply and he found not only competent contractors in several different areas, he worked with them to restore the house in record time. If there was a problem that came up during the process rather than ignoring it or handing it off, he immediately took care of the resolution. I would recommend Meredith and the Sycamore Foundation without reservation."

"Professional and prompt. Cleanup was a 4/5 as I found 3 nails in yard and carpet was dirtied. Excellent mold removal. Would definitely recommend this company."

"I had carpets steam cleaned in two rooms. The contractor arrived promptly at the arranged time and began work immediately. The job was done in about 45 minutes after my options were explained to me. He was professional, polite and did a great job"

"I regret I have to change my review, however, while satisfied with the water restoration, the remodeling never happened. I was put off for one reason or another. I ended up having to get someone else to finish the project. It would have been better to just tell me in the beginning there was no manpower to proceed with the work instead of wasting 3 to 4 weeks of my precious time, esp. in light of the fact I didn't have a kitchen!"

"The handyman, Paul, was punctual, professional and did quality work. He replaced the small section of my wood soffit that had water damage with new wood, painted it and caulked. He cleaned up the area when he was done. Paul also re-secured several of my window shutters that had loose screws. He spray painted the screw caps to match the color of my shutters. "

"EXCELLENT!! PERFECT. After 6 years, we have not had ANY evidence of water in our basement living space - and there have been significant rain levels where i am sure there would have been leaking and flooding had i not had Highland do the waterproofing. The job was done right, very quickly, and for less than i thought it was going to cost, to be honest. A complete basement perimeter drain was a somewhat drastic project but as they told us 6 years ago, it is the ONLY way to solve the problem. i'm pretty sure they were right. in addition to the perimeter drain, they also installed rigid plastic sheeting on the wall in 3 areas where there seemed to be some slight cracking. if water entered from those cracks, it is directed behind the plastic directly into the perimeter drain. all the material was removed from the basement through a small basement window - not up the stairs and through the main house. after several years we were so confident that our wet, leaking, and flooding basement days were over that we had the basement remodeled - and that has added so much to our lives - having a nice, warm, dry place to enjoy our grandchildren. i can't encourage others enough to consider using Highland Waterproofing to fix your leaky basement the right way, once and for all."

"UPDATE: Since writing this review, I have spoken to the manager of my local location. He was very kind and apologetic, offering to do anything to make it right - re-cleaning under the sofa, taking care of the drapes, and refunding the extra money for the "area rugs". Also, he was going to address the opening of doors. So, let it be known that this has been resolved to my satisfaction and the "check is in the mail". Should something change, I will update again. Thank you. <br /> <br /> My graded ratings are all over the place because it was a mixed bag - ex. the price for what I agreed to was good, being charged for services that I didn't agree to was horrible. I've been an annual/semi-annual customer of Stanley Steemer for over 15 years and have never had problems until this time. Sure there are bumps and dings in the walls but never anything serious. <br /> I left my grey-haired mother to watch over things while the guys were here. It's never been a problem before and she is more than capable of showing people what needs to be done. I feel that they took advantage of her. I had given Mom the total bill and asked her to have them protect the areas - which had not been included in the price, so she did not know the total price. Huge mistake. <br /> My biggest complaint is that <strong>they were SPECIFICALLY told not to go behind closed doors</strong>. After completing the master bedroom the tech commented that he "liked the tile pattern". When Mom inquired "what tile pattern", she said that his face turned beet-red when he answered "the master bathroom". Mom simply replied, "I thought that door was closed." I KNOW the doors were closed, because I closed them myself and they are a very tight fit. <strong>It was not an area scheduled to be cleaned. PERIOD. I think that's called trespassing.</strong>.. It is a beautiful mosaic, though. :) <br /> My next complaint is the condition in which my drapes and furniture were left. I've never had this happen before. My sofa has wooden legs on tiny metal wheels. There were no plastic protectors put between the metal and the carpet! Did you know that <strong>metal on wet carpet rusts</strong>? My heavy drapes and window sheers were tied into tight knots, when they are usually laid in the very wide window sills. I will now have to have all of them steamed to remove the creases. <br /> Finally, I had told Mom that most of the time the guys swipe across a dingy old carpet remnant that they walk across to get into and out of the house. It's in the garage - the hoses drag over it and whatnot. The remnant is cut into 3 pieces but sit end to end, which when combined are 3' x 6' or <strong>18 sq ft</strong>. The guys agreed, saying nothing else. When I got the bill, I was ASTOUNDED to find that I had been charged a total of <strong>$45 dollars</strong> for three "area rugs". Now, let me say that <strong> my 60+ sq ft hallway only costs $19</strong>. Had the guys told my mother what they were going to charge, she would have said forget it and hosed them off in the yard! Heck, I would have paid $19 and called it a day. It was just too easy for them to take advantage of a 70 year old woman. <br /> So, yes, I'm unbelievably dissatisfied and haven't been able to get a manager to call me back. The corporate office has called them twice and sent an email. I won't be using them again, because there are other good companies in the area; I just stayed out of familiarity and loyalty. <br /> There are opinions and interpretations of attitudes, but I can only deal in facts. These are the facts. <br /> <br />"
