"Recently I was selling my home. The inspector found some sewer line issues that caused my buyers to balk. I was under extremely tight deadlines and my cash flow was tight, to say the least. If I wasn't able to meet the deadlines, my buyers were going to withdraw and, because my contract on my new home was contingent on the sale of my old place, I would lose my new place. Afford-a-Rooter came to my rescue. Sue, Kyle and the rest of the team went far above and beyond the call of duty. They really and truly saved my contract and my sanity. The crew even took it in stride when my roommate accidentally let my Great Danes outside and they got rushed by a goofy puppy who loves everyone with a pulse. Trust me, it is intimidating to see a 100lb puppy come running at you full speed, even when he is wagging his tail and hopping around like a fool. I don't have the words to express how much they helped me. I recommend Afford-A-Rooter to anyone with plumbing issues big and small. I wish I could give them 2000 stars."

"The excellent grading with the protection of a rubber liner and river rock along two foundation walls in July 2019 prevented my basement from flooding recently when my sprinkler manifold next to the foundation broke and water spilled out for 1 1/2 hours, but none came in the basement! Chris and his son were hard-working, efficient, professional, and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend them and their work!"

"They helped me find the right people to help me with the engineering and get the job done quickly. They were able to quickly adjust their schedule to accommodate our urgent situation. They also saved me thousands doing there Own assessment and questioning others who wanted to do 3x of the amount of work and essentially replace entire system which was necessary."

"Such an approachable and understandable and affordable service. My furnace was out and my landlord was in no hurry to send someone. After the exact diagnosis and parts replaced and documented my landlord approved to pay for these services and all other going forward. It's so nice to have someone close to be able to help us with house and car repairs needed at a competitive affordable price. He will be a family contact always."

"The plumber, John, was outstanding and reassured us that the problem was taken care of. He also explained what had caused our main drain to block and offered some suggestions on how to prevent it from happening again in the future. I was also so pleased at how quickly they were able to come on a Sunday night. Excellent customer service. I highly recommend."

FAQs for septic system repair projects in Littleton, CO

You should have your septic tank inspected at least once every one to three years. Regular inspections help catch minor issues before they become major problems, ensuring your system operates efficiently and extends its lifespan. You can also have your pro take care of routine septic system maintenance tasks at the same time as your inspection.

A septic tank must be inspected before buying a home to ensure the system is sound and compliant with local regulations. A comprehensive inspection evaluates all critical components and detects hidden faults that could lead to expensive repairs. This detailed review protects your investment by verifying the system’s integrity and reliability.

A septic tank's leach field fails when it encounters system overload and deteriorating conditions. Excess water usage beyond the field’s capacity and environmental stress lead to hydraulic failure. Aging infrastructure and insufficient maintenance further contribute to failure. Distributing water use evenly and scheduling regular maintenance, including enzyme treatments when necessary, preserve the leach field’s integrity.

A septic system lasts between 20 and 30 years. Steel tanks function for 15 to 20 years, concrete tanks operate for 20 to 40 years, and fiberglass or plastic tanks remain durable for 30 to 40 years. Consistent maintenance, including regular pumping and inspections, extends these lifespans by preventing buildup and structural damage, ensuring reliable long-term performance.

A failing septic system presents clear signs such as slow-draining fixtures, foul odors at or around the leach field, and overly green patches of grass. Additional indicators include persistent toilet flushing problems, standing water near the system, and noticeable gurgling noises from pipes. These symptoms reveal blockages, structural damage, or leaks. Immediate professional evaluation is essential to address these issues and prevent extensive repair costs.
