"Bill and his team were consummate professionals from start to finish. They were always punctual and meticulous in their work. They replaced one septic system, rerouted one of the two old systems to the new one, and replaced three walkways. The only thing I would have changed is wishing they could have started the job a bit sooner. I highly recommend Bill and his team. He is a true man of his word!"

"I was very pleased with the people I worked with to complete this project. I had an issue with my septic pipes and JCB informed me of the best way to address it, gave me a very reasonable estimate and stuck to it, even though they had to do more than they anticipated, including drilling through my foundation. I would highly recommend this service!!"

"I am only giving them 5 stars because this rating will not allow 10 stars. Wayne and his crew installed a new septic system in our new Warwick, RI home. Everyone was extremely professional and courteous. They answered questions along the way as they worked through the complicated permit process. All of the crew were super personable and responsive. They also helped me move dirt on a landscape project I was working on while they had the heavy equipment. Saved me a lot of shoveling."

"He looked over the situation and gave us advise on what would be the best choices on faucets. We went to a plumbing supply store and bought a better kitchen faucet (than the one we had already purchased) for the same price. He removed our old faucets while spouse went to buy new materials because we had an older kitchen (alum sink, no marble). He had to cut some existing plumbing to make everything fit because the bathroom sink was old. It was missing some caulking and he repaired that. It looks much better and it was unexpected. He tested everything, had us use it and explained about the new faucets. I have had plumbing jobs by other plumbers in the area, sometimes well done, sometimes poorly done and always more expensive to the point that in the past, I have done some repairs myself. This is the second job I have hired Stephen to do. I am not accustomed to such good work, definitely would recommend Stephen Almeida Plumbing to others."

"Scott was super fast to connect after the initial trouble report was filed on ServiceMagic. He was able to schedule me in within 24 hours for a furnace repair ... When I think there were many, many calls for furnace problems. Although he had to arrive late due to tangles at a previous job, he called several times to account for his progress and to make sure a later arrival would still be OK. Given how late in the evening it turned out to be, he could easily have canceled ... but he gutted it out and came anyway. And we had heat in the morning!"

FAQs for septic system repair projects in Providence, RI

You should have your septic tank inspected at least once every one to three years. Regular inspections help catch minor issues before they become major problems, ensuring your system operates efficiently and extends its lifespan. You can also have your pro take care of routine septic system maintenance tasks at the same time as your inspection.

A septic tank must be inspected before buying a home to ensure the system is sound and compliant with local regulations. A comprehensive inspection evaluates all critical components and detects hidden faults that could lead to expensive repairs. This detailed review protects your investment by verifying the system’s integrity and reliability.

A septic tank's leach field fails when it encounters system overload and deteriorating conditions. Excess water usage beyond the field’s capacity and environmental stress lead to hydraulic failure. Aging infrastructure and insufficient maintenance further contribute to failure. Distributing water use evenly and scheduling regular maintenance, including enzyme treatments when necessary, preserve the leach field’s integrity.

A septic system lasts between 20 and 30 years. Steel tanks function for 15 to 20 years, concrete tanks operate for 20 to 40 years, and fiberglass or plastic tanks remain durable for 30 to 40 years. Consistent maintenance, including regular pumping and inspections, extends these lifespans by preventing buildup and structural damage, ensuring reliable long-term performance.

A failing septic system presents clear signs such as slow-draining fixtures, foul odors at or around the leach field, and overly green patches of grass. Additional indicators include persistent toilet flushing problems, standing water near the system, and noticeable gurgling noises from pipes. These symptoms reveal blockages, structural damage, or leaks. Immediate professional evaluation is essential to address these issues and prevent extensive repair costs.
