"I cannot say enough positive things about JDC contracting! By far the best contractor I have ever worked with. From the pricing, to the quality, to the customer service, all stellar! John was so great to work with! He always explained thinhs to me and kept me updated on his progress. I have had some really bad experiences with other contracts and John restored my faith! I will never use another contractor!"

"Not once during our entire basement finishing process did I question our decision to work with Mike Hessling at Catalyst (formerly Apex). The entire process took just over a month to go from a completely unfinished basement to a brand new, beautiful, rec room, office, and 3/4 bathroom. Mike even dealt with all the curve balls we threw him along the way, switching colors midway through painting, adding an additional cabinet here. He is the kind of contractor you dream of. He's hands-on, there first thing every morning doing so much of the work himself! And the coordination with all the subcontractors was amazing. Everyone knew when and where to be and what exactly needed to get done. To top it all off, he came in right on budget as quoted (which was very fair). Mike's brother Adam was also key in the build, working hard with Mike or on his own."

"I mean-the majority of 5 star reviews say it all. Patrick was a delight to work with--and I can truly call him a FRIEND! We hired him to complete our dream master bathroom remodel, as well as remodeling our laundry room. All I can say is-HIRE HIM. Our project went above and beyond our expectations and we are so happy with the outcome. Our project was a large one-including knocking down walls, re-configuring the master bath and laundry room, and installation of a CUSTOM tiled walk in shower. I worked closely with Patrick in picking out every single item, which also allowed me to learn some tricks and skills along the way too. Patrick is one of the nicest humans I've had the pleasure to meet and I would hire him again in a second."

"Wes and Nick (and Rob, Scott, Devon and Andy) arrived promptly at 7 am (the day after Memorial Day mind you). Ladders were up and leaves were flying off the roof within minutes. Three worked inside; three worked outside. At one point I thought there were 4 inside because they were movings so efficiently through our home, cleaning windows, washing and replacing screens. Our friends who were on gutter duty cleaned all the debris that fell from the roof (and a lot that was clutter from before they arrived). Thank you for going the extra mile to make the walks, deck and driveway look so good. The windows sparkle which makes the entire house glow. I think this was a big job; I expected it would take the entire day. They were done with everything cleaned up in about 2.5 hrs. Everyone was polite and answered all of our questions. Wes and Nick told me they had more than 10 years of experience, and so our windows didn't scare them one bit. I was lucky to get scheduled because they had a cancellation. The price was more than fair and I'm not afraid of the windows anymore. Thank you for an exceptional job - looking forward to working with you in the future."

"My mailbox fell apart and could not be repaired. It needed a new post and everything. This occurred the first week of December and although the ground was not yet frozen, I was concerned that it could soon become frozen.  This is Wisconsin, after all. I called all the highly rated handyman providers, and they all were booked for at least two weeks and some were busy through January or February. I decided to take a chance on Property Image, even though they had only a few reviews. The entire process went really well. They could not set up an available date for three days or so, but they communicated with me so I knew they were coming. I also could not be there during the work, which was not a problem for them. They offered to buy a new mailbox for me, but I wanted to choose one myself. I bought one (they purchased a post), and left it on my front porch in the morning. I came home that evening and it was installed perfectly, just the right distance from the street, level and sturdy in the ground. The landscaping around the post looked like it was barely touched. They billed me about a week later. It all worked out and I love my new mailbox <br />"

"Tom Lulinski’s guys did a great professional job. We had him paint most of the interior of our approximately 4,000+ square foot house as part of a big home remodeling project. Tom gave us a very competitive bid that detailed all the work he would do for us. He was very accommodating scheduling around the general contractor and subcontractors. We are really happy with the finished results which showed his painters’ real attention to detail. They didn’t just come in and start painting, they made sure all surfaces were prepared and where needed, repaired. Things like nail pops and settling cracks were fixed so there wouldn’t be further issues. We are very happy to recommend Thomas Lulinski Home Finishing for painting and will definitely use his services for any future painting projects."

"This project had many moving parts. Some of the project cost included temporarily moving electrical, HVAC and plumbing to be able to put in new beams, columns, footings etc. Some gas lines had to be re-done, and there were surprises like some unexpected knob & tube electrical wiring discovered inside a heating duct. We also made use of Rick’s extensive knowledge of older homes and remodeling to explore future work on our 100+ year old wood frame home. First, an important note - not all contractors have enthusiasm about working on older homes. Rick genuinely enjoys problem solving and fixing older homes. And Rick wants to walk away knowing things were done well to satisfy the homeowner, and that problems have been resolved. Rick handles complexities and trade-offs extremely well – an important reason a homeowner needs a general contractor (as well as his ability to mobilize good subcontractors timely & efficiently). Rick was patient, helped us explore options and most importantly – when a something came up during construction (as always does on older homes) – worked to find the best & most cost effective solutions. Rick has excellent subcontractors with whom he has good ongoing working relationships. He is transparent in his bidding process, breaking out the sub-contractor costs and his general contractor add-on. He and his subcontractors were responsive to adjustments as needed for new discovered problems (like our rusted basement drain pipes and a disruption in a load path that required extra reinforcement with steel plates to properly transfer the loads). As needed, Rick conferred with the structural engineer & subcontractors to make sure any adjustments or modifications to the initial plans were structurally sound & would be acceptable to the city building inspectors. We have noticed that 2nd floor doors in the dormer lines now close properly (better supported by the basement structural reinforcement below) and the sags in the first floor wood floor at the dormer load paths have been fixed (Rick and Dennis Krizan came back several times to adjust & monitor until the floor was level). We also have a more functional basement layout (water heater no longer next to wood columns and is away from the chimney) and have eliminated problems like the underfloor tunnel & the rotted underfloor plumbing drain piping. Note - All of the sub-contractors were excellent. That said, the sub-contractor who did the structural and concrete work, Dennis Krizan, stood out. He went the extra mile to solve problems discovered during construction."

"Mick did a great job! He was kind, friendly, hard working and had strong communication so I always knew the status of the project and the expected timeline. The quality of his work exceeded my expectations! The tile work came out awesome; great attention to detail! I love my new bathroom :-) The basement pole project was an add-on project I decided to do prior to having new carpet installed in the basement. I called Mick and he was able to squeeze in this work quickly to beat my carpet installers. I really appreciated his prompt service and high quality work! The new support beam looks great and makes the room look truly "finished". I would definitely call Mick again when I have another home repair need. Thanks!!"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Lodi, WI

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
